Unable to access profile settings on a local user

Hello,

I'm trying to link my Xbox live account with my Xbox 360. I tried to follow instructions given online and went to the settings page but I can't access any profile settings at all. I am unable to access anything but preferences, Kinect, and Family. No Parental
controls are turned on. I've also tried downloading my profile from Xbox live, but get an error every time. If someone could help, that'd be great

problem with account

Hi,

We lost one of the two account we have.

In addition, we are unable to access the settings to search the account. When we try to access the icon to go into the profile to go to settings, nothing appears. We stay on the homepage. We can not access the settings anymore. What is the problem?

keep saying need active profile?

this is what it says completly (unable to access the active gamer profile. changes to settings or game progress may be lost.)

Hi what error do you see please ?

When attempting to download your profile do you get an incorrect password error maybe ? that may be caused by having two step verification enabled on your account in which case you can either turn off two step and use your regular password or leave two step
on and create the app password to use in place of your regular password.

If you have not joined Xbox Live and only used your profile offline you will need to turn that offline profile into a gamertag.

so there is no profile to sign out from.

@upsydaisy72 Let us know if you are still unable to downoad your profile onto your console?

If I delete a local profile then it and any achievements attached to it are gone for good. Local profiles have no access to LIVE.

Since a local profile has no connection to LIVE it should not be prompting for you to test connection when logging in to it.

I don't think you have to change the actual region of your profile to access the foreign marketplace on One, though. Locale is enough this time around. Your profile is still registered to one country while you use the martkeplace of another. I noticed this
when I set up my console and wanted to use English as the language. Locale set to the UK and suddenly prices were in £ even though my profile region stayed as Finland.
