    Unable to access "Messages" via xbox.com


    Recently, I've been unable to access "Messages" via xbox.com. This issue seemed to start at the same time as I had some difficulty in deleting group chats that I was the only member of. When trying to access the page, the majority of the page remains grey
    and unresponsive, and I see the spinner in the middle of the page (image attached).

    I've done some trouble shooting with a member of the Xbox Support Twitter team and they were unable to resolve the issue for me. They asked me to let anyone helping to know the following.

    1. You have verified that your account's security phone number is correct

    2. You have verified that your Privacy & Safety settings are set to allow Group messages for this account

    3. Messages are sending correctly for you on Xbox One & through the iOS app

    4. You have tested sending/checking messages on
    http://Xbox.com     with multiple devices & browsers & in incognito mode

    5. Another account was able to sign into the same devices & browsers and was able to load messages.

    Any help in assisting me to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    I have been having this problem for WEEKS! Below is the message I receive on XBOX.com when I select the "Messages" tab:

    "Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened.

    It appears you've found a glitch in the system. Please try again later.

    UPDATE - Signed out and back into W10 Xbox app and I am now able to access messages

    Okay, I deleted all messages in the smartglass app *except* an empty message from Xbox Live that seems to have appeared with the update to the new UI (just a guess, can't confirm). Still no joy. I *thought* that this empty Xbox Live message was some sort
    of reserved system thing, but the smartglass app let me delete it, and once I did so, messaging on xbox.com started working again. Thanks for the tip, shotinthefoot2!

    You're not the only one, I've been experiencing the same for the last couple of days. Messaging on the console works fine, but on xbox.com it sends me to an "Uh-oh, that wasn't supposed to happen" page with some lines of code as you describe. Anybody have
