Unable to Access Gamertag on New Xbox One

I just got an Xbox One and am trying to move access my gamertag that I used on my 360, but it's attached to an email I haven't used in about 8 years and thus remember very little about. It's only purpose is the original account for my gamertag. The password
recovery people denied me the password because I didn't have enough information about the account anymore. Is there some other way to get the password to an old hotmail account or to move my gamertag over to my current Microsoft account? Either way would really
accomplish the same goal I believe, though I would prefer to move it if possible.

I have 2 gamertags for my email address (profile login) and no one can correct it. my old gamertag is linked to my gold and is just sitting there. I am unable to access it as a new gamertag was assigned to my login today....no one at xbox or Microsoft can
assisit...

XBL free trial

I used the XBL free trial certificate on my new xbox one but am unable to access multiplayer functionality. Received the error message that "account cannot access this server on xbox live".

I actually already tried those. I have the email address, just not the password. I suppose my other issue is that I don't have the phone number used to send the backup to in the lost password solution, thus it sends to the website for a verification, which
is where my not remembering much about the account creates the dead end. Is there anyway to get around this? Do I need to talk to someone over the phone or chat to have something like that done?

 

I'm sorry but that is all the steps to recovering the account the next best step is contacting support through phone call.

Hey man.... all's not lost. I had the same/similar issue last year where I did not have the @yahoo email password anymore but I knew my Gamertag password. **If you can't sign-in to your Microsoft account right now than just jump to the bottom of the post**

1. Open a new tab or window in your browser (so you don't lose this one)

2. Go to https://account.live.com

3. click on your name in the top right hand corner (if it's there...Otherwise just sign-in to your profile using your email associated with your Gamertag and the password for that gamertag, not the password for the email account)

4. Click on "Your Info" along the top of the screen inside of the big blue bar

5. Click on "Manage How You Sign In to Microsoft"

6. Add a new email and phone number of your choice (and don't lose the password this time!)

7. Remove the old ones you don't want and the "primary" designation will automatically move over to your new email address

If this does not help or you can not log in, you'll need to contact support again. I'm not sure what other information they'd need you to provide that you wouldn't have from years past? When I called to have my password reset, they asked me a few questions
(name, DOB, address...etc). A buddy of mine is a regional manager for Gamestop and has regular contact with reps at Microsoft and attends large meeting with the "higher ups". Live Support gave him a lot of grief for almost A YEAR before they would release
his password information so he could reassociate his account with a new email address. Long story short, it's possible to get it changed. You just have to get the right person to help you out via phone. Good Luck!
