Unabel to join session

Discus and support Unabel to join session in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; can anyone help me. I've been trying to get online on forza horizon 4 for three days. i bought forza through my pc and then transferred this to my xbox...     I've had the same issue for a couple months..

    So-n-so is online and joinable ......... join session in progress ...... unable to join session.

    Why can i connect to my friend who lives in Idaho?

    Does he have his session open to friends? Are you trying to join off of an invite or just joining session in progress?

    Try to make a party on the Xbox app and then launch the game, one will join a session and in the pause menu instead of the invite friends option it will be changed to join friend's Gamertag, selecting it will join your friend's session

    It's this inconsistency that drives people crazy. Inigo uses join session "almost every time" and I still haven't seen join session once. Finally played online last night with a friend using the spam-stone method, but I had to go back to the title screen.
    So I purposely looked for "join session" and it still wasn't available.
