    Ultimate games pass question


    My son has currently has xbox live and recently upgraded since e3 to the ultimate game pass. His subscription ends at the end of November. Consequently through the family feature, I share these benefits.

    I just purchased a 12 mo. Xbox live code to extends these benefits for another 12 mos.

    My questions is, is it better to use the code myself now and upgrade to ultimate or give him the card to extend his services? I’ve read on the website that if you get a code after already joining ultimate you only get 4 mos. ultimate for every 12 mos.
    of prepaid live added. Which means his ultimate game pass will end in March.

    If I use it for myself before I upgrade to ultimate will only get 4 mos. of ultimate too or will I get a full 12 mos. of ultimate? I hope I’ve explained this right.

    I had Game Pass Ultimate from November to February, then cancelled it. I never did the Live Gold to GPU conversion. Can I do that if I sign up for Game Pass again?

    Convert Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate

    Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this question, "Why Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass?", the "Or" in the question is more of a "And/or". When you upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate it will convert bot Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold
    to Xbox Game Pass ultimate. The only difference is that it will convert the two subscriptions differently. For more info on the conversion ratio please visit this

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. When you convert to the Ultimate subscription, any Xbox live gold or game pass time you have converts to the Ultimate subscription. For example, if you had 1 month of Xbox live gold and no game pass. You
    then purchased the Ultimate for $1. You will have two months of ultimate subscription.

    It now depends what you actually bought and what type of subscription you have.

    You say you have the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, but above you said you have bought a 1 year Xbox Live Code.

    Since Game Pass Ultimate is more expensive, a "normal" Xbox Live Gold card won't give you the full year for your Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

    For a 1 year Xbox Live Gold prepaid card you "only" get 4 months of Game Pass Ultimate.
