ultimate game pass

I bought my son an xbox one x for Christmas and thought I ordered the ultimate game pass for $1.00. I apparently did something wrong (trying to buy it as a gift) and wound up paying $47.80. I did an online support chat to be told to request a refund
then when approved, order it again for $1. So I did as instructed thinking in a few days I'd be refunded the money and I could re-order it. Not so. My request was denied, so does anybody know if at the end of the 3 months, can I order it for $1.00 or was
it just for new subscribers?
