Ultimate Game Pass with Live not recognized on my PC

I have the PC Xbox app. I'm able to use the game pass, download games, play games, etc. HOWEVER, I am unable to play any games that require xbox live. I have xbox live through the ultimate game pass. When I try to run a game like Sea of Thieves it just says that I need live to play the game. I've uninstalled then reinstalled the app and updated and restarted my computer. That hasn't fixed the issue. I have verified that my Microsoft Store and the xbox app are both logged in to the same xbox/microsoft account. Not sure what else to try.

For some reason it has made me purchase game pass for pc, even with having game pass ultimate until late 2021. Not sure why it doesn’t recognize I’ve already paid for the pass.

As mentioned by others, Game Pass Ultimate has Live Gold, Game Pass console and Game Pass PC and therefore it will not be possible to subscribe to Game Pass PC individually, while it has Ultimate. If in the future you stop being an Ultimate subscriber,
then you will be able to take advantage of specific PC offers.

Are you absolutely sure it's Game Pass Ultimate? Because there are 3 versions of Game Pass, the console version, PC version and Ultimate, which is the merger of Live Gold with Game Pass and also has Game Pass access on the PC.
