Ultimate game pass prompts for subscription when I try to download games.

Hi

I purchased Game Pass Ultimate on Xbox live account which is different than my Windows Store account.

When I try to "Play With Game Pass" it brings me to the sign up page. Obviously I don't want to do this as the purchase has already been made.

Do I have to have the Game Pass on my store account?

Hey there KrisCampbell24,

Yes that is correct, you will have to be signed into the account that owns the Game Pass Ultimate subscription so that you can take advantage of the game pass games. You are unable to take advantage of a subscription that was purchased on a different account.

I was able to work around it by adding my xbox account as a user and then logging in with it. I can now switch between the two profiles. A little inconvenient, but it works.

Are you getting a prompt to get an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? If yes, jus a friendly reminder though that to play a paid online multiplayer game an Xbox Live Gold subscription is required which is why you're getting the prompt.

Game Pass for Console is a subscription where you can access the game pass library, the Xbox Live Gold subscription is different but it is included on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

I'm getting a prompt for Ultimate, not Xbox Live Gold.

What happens when you try to play them? Are the games you downloaded free-to-play games (like Fortnite)? Do you have a Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscription?
