UK to Leave the EU

Ok MS here's a question for you. Now that the UK is close to leaving the EU. How is that going to effect us gaming wise?

its a scary world when people take google searches and media as fact.

In the uk there is a significant issue of should we stay in the EU or leave, and neither side have released any facts, they release details trying to persuade you to their side of the argument, calling the facts.

If your importing games , I think its going to be more expensive to do so now

 

No I'm not importing. I was just wondering about the game releases and the price change. Also with updates to games and licensing. Will that all change?

 

I was just generalising , people do import games and such. I don't think things will change in the short term but they might in the medium- long term

 

i dont think this will change much as most games are digital anyway and alot of people would change region ect and people would not spend alot more on a game if you have noticed games outside of EU (before we left) was still equiv around £50 for new games

 

We haven't left the EU, yet. That won't happen for a couple of years. Even after that, not much will change. Prices especially. They'll either drop, or remain the same.

 

The UK was part of a Europe Wide Free Market.

The decision to leave the European Union is a decision to leave that Free Market.

Why do you think that once England leaves the European Union that prices will stay the same or get lower if England is no longer benefiting from the Free Trade benefits of being a member of the European Union?

Leaving the EU will ultimately push prices higher and inflation with it because of the increased cost of trading with countries outside of our very small borders.

This would have been a great idea while we still had an Empire.

Now... it's a pretty dumb thing to do.

What does that say about the British People?

 

While leaving the EU adds a layer of uncertainty for developers and publisher in the UK on top of the troubles at hand already, nobody can say for sure how this would affect the business and consumer. The main problem for the gaming industry in the UK is
not the prices of purchasing content as that is down to the publisher but instead to the free movement and skilled labour.

The UK leaving the EU in whole will affect foreign developer who have set shop for further investments in the UK. The uncertainty for developers like this will reside economically and culturally. Yes the value of the pound has fallen, but this is expected.

To put it into perspective I voted in. I do not agree nor disagree on anyones views. You voted out? Well *** good for you, I am sure you had a great reason. But short term, Brexit will have backlashes on the stock market and sales which with new trading
standards will over long term will become better.

If you are worried about increasing prices just know that game exchange in the UK is mainly tied to the local currency exchange rates. Hardware will be more affected than software and the new Xbox One Scorpio may be more expensive, however if the pound fluctuates
as expected by Andy Payne and a number of other economical experts then after the initial shock. Games could become CHEAPER.

"Games could become CHEAPER" is comedy gold.

 

I would like to see your sources and something helpful without being detrimental to others.

 

I just hope that prices don't go up. Cos if they do that, then thats me done with gaming. Games being at £40 is bad enough. When it comes to games i really want like halo 5 and a few other then i will spend those few extra pounds. But i wont be doing that
all the time.
