To drop prices twice so soon is a smack in the face for the most loyal customers who bought at launch or soon after

Rrp was £430 at launch,games rrp £60. So £350 including a game is a price drop of £140 in real terms, just 4 months after launch

It smacks of desperation, but they have to do something

Whilst the xbone is selling well in usa, in uk & europe it simply isn't. It comes down to supply and demand.

Personally I'd rather they kept the price the same and used that money to develop games. Games sell consoles.

 

Where to look for xbox 360/one deals?

Amazon, BestBuy, Walmart, Ebay, you name it. I will say the Xbox One deals are getting better and better. The $299 price point is showing up more so either a price cut is imminent or retailers are just getting rid of stock for the 1 TB.

 

They only had five of them due to the promotion. I would be very happy if I got my hands on one for £300

I don't think they'd quite generate the sales you anticipate if they'd of launched at £300. Sure it's a better price and would have bought in a few more people but this is just a case of seeing the sale tag.

You could sell anything for £300 and it might not sell, but if you then put a £400 sticker above it and cross it out, people see the £100 saving and jump on it, even though it was £300 all along. I think this is working on a similar logic that people are
only snapping them up at £300 because it IS a saving, if they had launched at that RRP, nobody would be interested.

Hopefully that made sense.

I will add though, it appears that my lack of patience has now truly bitten me on the backside. I paid £475 for my console and although I'm happy with it and don't mind paying premium prices for early adoption the potential to grab a cheap console now is
really starting to show.

 

Wow, well that is a bargain! Shame it sold out but that, I have to say, is no surprise. At £300 I would expect users to queue.

 

Xbox is lagging way behind PS in sales, also it is having way too many out of the box problems. XBONE is about to become the 3DO of this generation, Which was made redundant by the first PlayStation.

The X1 is selling just fine here in the States, has been in the top 10 on Amazon.com for over 2 weeks. The PS4 has also been in stock for almost 2 weeks and has not sold out?
