    UHD disc playback -- fails after an hour


    Been searching the net to no real avail (perhaps I'm bad with Bing). I have an ongoing issue playing retail UHD discs on my Xbox hardware (both S and X).

    50min-1hour into many UHDs (not 100%) I start getting corruption / stuttering / drops until the movie hangs. Usually I can kill the app, restart and resume the movie and it works fine (although occasionally it takes a couple of close/restarts).

    I had this issue on my Xbox One S for a year, on movies ranging from Planet Earth 2 to GotG2 to Wonder Woman.

    Last night I tried out a brand new movie (The Mummy UHD) on my new Xbox One X. Exact same issue, and again 50min into the movie. First there is some artifacting, then then stuttering then skipping scenes then hangs. Last night only had to close the
    BluRay app once and restart it. Note I assume I'm on the most recent version of the app as I had to download it fresh on my new Xbox One X as this is the first time I tried to watch a disc on the new system.

    Anything at all that can be done?

    UHD Blu Rays

    It doesn't support 4K UHD playback.

    If you are referring to "Mastered in 4K" discs those are just 1080p titles made from a 4K master.

    New hardware is required to playback UHD Blu-Ray.

  3. 4K Blu-rays not working 0x91d70001

    I have the One S. I have a dozen other UHD Blu-rays working perfectly, but Deadpool fails to start with the error 0x91d70001. The disc was replaced by the store but even the new one fails, so it's not the disc.

    Kind of. I cannot describe it perfectly but it does come when starting UHD Blu-ray Disc playback and stopped immediately on quitting the playback.

    Spent 2 and a half hours after this last update ruined everything.

    Fix for me:

    Uninstall/reinstall BluRay App

    Set playback to stereo (Temporarily)

    Disable 24hz, Disable 50hz, Enable HDR, Disable Amp controlling playback (under bluray)

    - Shutdown xbox

    - Power on xbox

    - start playing any Bluray/UHD BluRay.

    - Aslong as this works, start turning on features again

    - Rewind UHD to begining, set your surround sound/atmos/amp decode audio.

    Mine seems to have issues playing UHD discs. Playback for the video will stop and audio will continue, and then the video finally will catch back up. Very irritating.

    Kind of. I cannot describe it perfectly but it does come when starting UHD Blu-ray Disc playback and stopped immediately on quitting the playback.
    Mine is still continuing even with the disc taken out.. also doing whilst turned off/ on standby with power cable still plugged in..
