UHD Blu ray player

my one X doesn't recognise UHD blu rays at all. I bought the Last Jedi, it's factory new and the blu ray app doesn't recognise the disc. Then I get an error message saying our service isn't working properly please try again later

Xbox One S as an UHD blu ray player..

Is the Xbox One S worth getting for UHD playback?

Thinking of buying one for playing UHD blu-ray discs on my OLED 55B6. Do they upscale regular Blu-ray to 4K?

I think it is worth it for the UHD blu rays. Don't think it upscales standard blu ray but your tv will do that anyway.
With the news that they are adding atmos too I think it is a bargain compared to other uhd players. Get a xbox as well thrown in.

We appreciate you reaching out to us with this issue. Can you tell us if you've passed all of the 4k tests for the console to actually push the graphical fidelity for the TV to produce? You would need to pass all of the tests for the console to produce the
graphical picture. Are you having issues with Blu-Ray?

Are you playing these movies from a 4k UHD Blu Ray or streaming service? If from disk, have you updated the Blu Ray player app on the Xbox?

I love everything about the Xbox S except for the 4k blue ray player. I bought 2 4k UHD disks, The Revenant and Star Trek Into Darkness. The Revenant had major audio sync problems which just come and go. Star Trek Into Darkness would not even load. Returned

Hopefully Microsoft will be able to fix this quickly.

If you are going to play movies via DVD, Blu Ray or 4k UHD Blu Ray, yes.

To be fair, on the Xbox Series X official page, there is no mention of 3D so it can't be expected:

"Optical Drive. 4K UHD Blu-Ray"

As to not having a state of the art player, not surprised there either....a £450 ($500) console is not expected to have a blu-ray player that would cost probably £200 standalone
