UHD 4K Planet Earth 2 not playing properly in Xbox One S

Having Bought a New copy of Planet Earth 2 UHD 4K version I then was looking at a suitable player to use with it. General comments were that although not the best the Xbox one S was the cheapest option.

My experience is dissapointing as neither disc will play properly. It just loops the opening Pre-menu footage again and again and No menu. This appears to be a common problem with Planet Earth 2 Ultra HD BR and Xbox one S

Where does the problem lie ? is the Software/hardware on the Xbox one S not compliant with the standards.

Is Planet Earth 2 UHD version not mastered properly ?

Very dissapointing experience and it seems that it is just the Xbox One S player that has this issue with the discs.

Blu-ray menu not showing up

No, uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not work. Again, has anyone else reported this issue? The main (and probably only) reason I wanted to get an XBox One S was for the 4K blu-ray capability - especially for Planet Earth 2. So far it has failed
me.

 

I would say that if the it is just your Xbox One with the problem playing the disc then yes it is a hardware or software problem on thier part. Hopefully they will see this post and look into the problem. Though it may be that is is just your console and
not someone elses? can you try the disc on another persons console?

Sorry to hear about the issue. We've seen similar issues to this where a disc replacement from the studio has helped resolve these type of issues. Before we jump to that, let's start with these following steps first:

• Uninstall the Blu-ray Player app from your Xbox One console.
• Navigate to
  Disc and Blu-ray settings to clear the Persistent Storage.
• Press and hold the power button down on your Xbox One S until the console fully powers down.
• Boot back up, reinstall the Blu-ray player app from the Xbox Store and give it another shot!

If the issue persists, another solution we recommend performing
Factory Restore on your Xbox One console. Be sure to select 'Restore and keep my games & apps' if you already have other games installed. If not, go ahead and try the reset everything option.

I have the exact same problem, the menu on this disk in not working. Thankfully I have the add-on remote so can bring up the blu-ray controls and play but there are no chapter options, sound options or any other menu controls on this disk.

it's not working with my Xbox One S. The disk does work on other players, so just an issue with the Xbox.
