Ugh, I redeemed a code not realizing my friend bought me the wrong system version

So, I'm 3 weeks into my Covid isolation since my job got shut down along with everyone else in the bar/restaurant industry I know, and the cabin fever is starting to seriously take hold. I was lamenting to a friend I've gamed with for about 20 years about
my regrets on not buying the Ark Genesis season pass when I still, you know, had a life and a good paying job before the Plague came and crapped all over reality as we all know it. It was only a month ago since my job and everything else in Dallas shut down,
but hoooo boy, a month in my house alone with my thoughts has been...well, let's say far less than ideal this last week. I'm starting to understand on a level far deeper than I ever wanted to how people in solitary confinement go literally insane.

Anyways, he didn't tell me and gifted me Ark Genesis cause I'm on unemployment till we can start civilization back up again or I'm homeless, whichever happens first....but I don't have an Xbox, I only play on PC via steam.

I was legit so freakin excited for anything that doesn't depress the ever-loving mmmhmm out of me this last week (Dallas weather has p much been like living in London, on top of everything else, and I was *just* getting over my Seasonal Affective Disorder)
I slammed redeem before it even really registered the email was from microsoft and not steam.

I feel absolutely awful my friend wasted his money on a game I can't play...is there ANY way I can get it refunded back to him, or even just like, unredeem the code on my account so he can have the code back and give it to someone else? Obviously I haven't
downloaded the game, since I don't even own an Xbox since my son's broke a couple months ago...surely there's got to be *some* way I can at least just get the code revoked from my account so he can give the code to someone else to redeem? Please? I feel
terrible he wasted his money on it due to my extended isolation making me ADD as all get out. =(

He'd just give the code to someone else, so it's not like MS would even lose money on the sale if they would just revoke the code from my acct and reissue a new one to his acct, I just feel absolutely terrible I redeemed it before reading what system it was
for first. I feel even worse because he's such a great guy he rebought it for me on Steam when I told him how I messed it all up and being out of work, well, if I had a way to pay him back right now, I'd just have bought it for myself and not whined on FB
about not being able to play it in the first place, honestly, lol.

They've got to be able to see in their system I dont even have an active Xbox Live acct and that I have never downloaded or played it, right? =(

It's been a hard month =( When I realized what I did, first I laughed till I cried, cause p much every day lately been a FML day and it just seemed perfectly apt for how my life's been going for a minute now even outside all of the current global events,
but then it just made me cry, cause this ain't the time to be wasting other people's money. It's not how I was raised and I'm feeling so damned guilty now =/ Please, Microsoft, any chance I could prevail upon you to give my mental health a tiny break and
just tell me a way I can get him the code itself back. =(
