A 100 years ago people probably complained something needed electricity to power something (rather than coal). It's called progress...always online is going to happen eventually.

In my estimation, we're probably 2 years away from all of the Xbox One (and PS4) demographic having "always online capability". Most people can achieve it already, even if they have to do so by using their phone as a hotspot.

I think people are misunderstanding what this is. This isn't "whenever your internet drops, you lose your Notoriety." This is a conscious decision to make. Anyway the main premise of this game is connectivity so IMHO it only follows that you would benefit
most from being connected and interacting with others. If you don't want to be connected play it offline, or play online to see if you like it and if not you get to start over.

You dont get to, you have to, which is the problem (to reverse quote the mighty Finn). And Im not sure how this benefits anyone or is innovative or whatnot. I wouldnt want to learn how to play a game
online, and then start over anyway - the natural progression would be to learn offline, and then decide if you like being online with it, then make a decision whether to keep that enabled or not, w/o being 'punished' for not liking the online. There is very
little I liked about this game to begin with, but this is the back-breaking straw to me. Ubisoft is fast becoming a company I have no wish to give money to.

Tomato tomahto... Since one of the contentious parts of the game is the online-only hack your friends and others I think learning online first would be best. It does seem a tad shiesty having to start over.

Yes I looked up Ubisoft on Wikipedia. Am kind of wanting to get Watch Dogs tomorrow because it has really good graphics and one of my favourite Youtubers Lewis Blogs is doing a commentary of it. I might get it just to try it out. I just hope all update Ubsoft
wants to make for Xbox 1 go through Microsoft cert testing just to make sure it's safe since they are putting it onto a console managed by M. Ubisoft isn't quite one of my favourite game devs but I might get Watch Dogs just to try it out I won't play it hardcore.

I've just been playing it in "offline mode" from the start so haven't earned no online stats to lose lol

    No Spoilers,

I can't judge it overall, played very little so far but in my early impressions it's one very impressive/clever game. One of the things that has impressed me most is there's so many ways to approach each situation. One example, yesterday I found myself being
chased by the police in a car, even here it doesn't have to be just about driving as fast as you can to outrun them. Use the tools you have, check your surroundings and how to use them to your advantage, the scope is HUGE.

    Extremely impressed so far.

I've watched some newish videos on Youtube probably will get the game tomorrow even though retailers are selling it at the full RRPNZ$118. I just want to try it out the graphics look good I watched one newish video on Youtube with xbox 1 gameplay of it raining
at night the textures look really good better than Xbox 360 grand theft auto V. The Xbox 1 version will probably look better than the 360 version due to better processing power.

Overall I wouldn't say the graphics are the best I've ever seen but they are impressive especially considering the size of the playing area.

I just came off after another few hours on it and worth mentioning were the visuals during a police chase at night whilst it was raining. Trying to get away by driving down back alleys whilst the police helicopter is right above you shinning it's light on
    you, it looked pretty special.

And I know over the coming days no doubt there will be the usual XB1/PS4 comparison chat, well my good mate has been playing it on PS4 the last few days, I've seen it running and he's seen it running on my XB1, we both agree that visually ( we didn't do
a side by side comparison lol ) there is no obvious difference that we could see apart from the XB1 version seems a bit lighter while the PS4 seems a little darker.

I can't see anyone being disappointed by the visuals on either console but more importantly I would say the majority just like me will be very impressed with how the game plays, it really is one stunning title in my opinion.

I think people are overeacting a little bit, I dont have all the details but Im guessing the notoriety that gets set to 0 is kind of like an online beacon that says "hey this guy is level 10, we need to hack him"

so that being set to 0 if your wanting to play offline wont affect you. Im taking a guess and a complete shot in the dark with this next part, but Im guessing the skills you gain while online that get disabled Im betting ar skills that would only be useful
for hacking other players who you have joined or have joined your game. Therefore I think what it disables for you not being online shouldnt affect your game, but it is letting you know so that you dont go screaming in the forums that your notoriety wont go
up or your skills have vanished when your trying to play the game offline.

I could be wrong but Im normally not lol Ubisoft trying "always online"? :p

  12. @ Lofty. So I'm getting a bit burned out on Titanfall and started playing a little PvZ for a break. Of course (for me) PvZ is more of a 'filler material' game... and it's going to be awhile until the next game that interests me is out.

That being said, I have been back and forth about this game since I first heard about it. I was actually dead set against it when I heard that people could seamlessly enter your game and wreak havoc, then leave. Now that you can 'turn off invasions' I've
actually been reconsidering it. So I have a question you might be able to answer. If I get it, I plan on just turning off invasions and leaving it that way. Does that hinder the game at all, other than the obvious fact that people won't be able to enter your
game? Is it just invasions, hacking and tailing that is 'online' or are there other features that may or may not be available, depending on which you choose?

It seems a few are lucky to be grabbing their copies early.

I mentioned it in another thread, hope people don't end up in trouble for playing it early, well not for playing "legit" copies early.

Probably just gonna end up playing in offline mode. Hide and seek/Tag is not new and innovative. Ill give it a try and if its not to intrusive (getting hacked every few minutes) ill leave it.

Punishment is not innovative or different though is it , that's what this thread is about isn't it?
