Ubisoft trying "always online"?

Just because the feature is active doesn't necessarily mean you have to be online to play. Yes it will be temporarily unavailable while your offline but as long as you leave the box checked the game probably won't care

 

The more and more you hear about this game the worse it gets it seems. It's a shame to see that the game went from what was shown years ago at E3 to what it is now.

 

So it's gone from E3 Eye Candy to something new and challenging to play?

Yeah, bummer eh?

Arm Chair Gamers have just overtaken Arm Chair Generals and Arm Chair Quarterbacks on the "most annoying" list.

 

I don't want some random person ruining my single player experience. I don't even care about the multiplayer component at all.

 

Think we need to wait and see how saves and games are handled. If they enable multiple game saves then it's conceivable a person could have a game that's used online, then a separate one to use offline.

I plan to disable "online" play as I don't need other people meddling with my game. If I wanted that, I'd play Dark Souls and its ilk.

 

Interesting I had no idea this game was going down that path, but I had all sorts of doubts about Dark Souls and that is just brilliant and I like to stay connected while I play for the other worlds messages and invasions etc.

So if being online brings a whole other aspect to this game I might find that I don't want to play it without being connected. Only time will tell I guess.

 

What I'm interested to know is what will happen to people like me: I often stop playing my game by either turning off the console or loading an app like Netflix. I've become accustomed to jumping right back into the game exactly where I left off. Now,
with games like Titanfall, if I idle too long, it disconnects me. What will happen in Watch Dogs?

I'm not saying Watch Dogs won't work brilliantly online but at the very least give people the choice without punishing them for it.

Me, I'm just going to play offline mode from the start. Like with any game with online features, at first I want to go exploring on my own, take my time. I'm just going to finish what I want/can of the main game then try out the online features.

 

From the sounds of it, when people invade your game, they can't directly effect you. By that I mean if they manage to hack you and get away, it won't adversely effect you, all that happens is that when you gain exp, in your game, the hack will receive a
percentage of that exp.

 

@Lofty. Same here, I'm just going to start offline. As soon as I've done playing on my own I'll venture into online more.

 

Probably just gonna end up playing in offline mode. Hide and seek/Tag is not new and innovative. Ill give it a try and if its not to intrusive (getting hacked every few minutes) ill leave it.

 

In reality, my only complaint is why release this game on a Tuesday? I'm sure there's loads of people wanting to wait in line on a monday night. That's the biggest crime

 

Why are so many people scared of playing properly?

It's like being in a thread full of techno-phones who's Kinects are still wrapped up in the plastic because they refused to have Kinect "forced" upon them.

I say "Try before you cry".

 

It seems a few are lucky to be grabbing their copies early.

I mentioned it in another thread, hope people don't end up in trouble for playing it early, well not for playing "legit" copies early.
