Ubisoft expecting 'The Crew' to reach the same status as World of Warcraft online.

Thank you to R1CH5TER for posting this on the UK General Forum.

Now I've been looking forward to The Crew since it was announced but with the developers saying,

"With full confidence in the delivery of this experience, Ubisoft is pressing the pedal even harder and is not only comparing
The Crew to that of other successful online titles of the past, but expecting their title to reach the same status as
World of Warcraft, the undeniable juggernaut of online gaming."

I hope they can pull it off but not sure if I'm confident about this statement or think Ubisoft are being a 'little' over ambitious?

Let's remember "Warcraft" is it's own, different series of games. While same franchise as World of Warcraft, Warcraft is an RTS, while WoW is a MMORPG. Two very, very different games Also "Warcraft" wasn't on a monthly sub, World of Warcraft was, though

 

What game would you choose?

World of Warcraft on the condition that the expansions still count as the same game if not then any Soul Calibur or Street Fighter with online play they never get old.

I wont say it wont happen, but to expect it to take off to WOW levels? Thats getting a wee bit ahead of themselves.

The expectation levels that Ubisoft has for its games is really out of this world. Expecting Watch dogs to sell 6 million and adapting a movie. Is a bit much for an unproven franchise.
