Typing in-game through the Xbox App

I am having trouble using the Xbox App to type in messages through streaming. If I happen to press a button on the controller, the prompt to type in a message will disappear with no apparent way to pull it back up. I try closing and reopening the app but
the prompt does not show up again.

Can't type on keyboard

Hi there,

After yesterday's update, I can no longer type on my keyboard when streaming games on my PC.

Previously, I could use the windows app to turn on my xbox and steam to my PC and play, using the controller via usb connection. Whenever I used something that required typing, such as searching for something or using chat in game, it would bring up a small
window that said "typing on xbox one" and I could type the message via my keyboard. Now that feature has disappeared. I have looked at my settings on both the app and my xbox and can't see what has changed. I have the "typing on the xbox" setting in the app
turned on, but cannot find anything on the xbox to allow typing.

Any help is appreciated.

Better Dual Monitor Support?

How very odd, iiGators! I'm streaming right now on my second monitor while typing this on the first. I tried moving them to opposite screens and was able to stream on the first while typing on the second. What version of the app are you running? If you
could submit feedback through the beta app we'd love to look into this for you.

Through xbox store, just type xbox beta and grab the app and signup then go in and download the new omega dashboard update.

How did you install the game, through the Windows Store or Xbox beta app? You might try a Windows Store reset by typing wsreset into search and let the command prompt run it's cycle. Also you can reset the Xbox beta app by right clicking it and selecting
- more - app settings - reset.

Was Minecraft installed through the Microsoft store? Or through a 3rd party website?

If downloaded through the Microsoft store, the Xbox App covers the need to sign in as when launching such titles through the app the account is already signed
into which would cancel out having to sign in.

If the app is already installed, our suggestion for troubleshooting the Xbox App is as follows:

Here are steps below on how to uninstall and reinstall Xbox app:

1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.

2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.

3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage
*xboxapp*| Remove-AppxPackage

4. Hit Enter.

Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.

Attempt this step and let us know how this goes.

Seeing as this concerns a game that was purchased through the Microsoft store, there may be an issue with the Xbox app syncing the game to the account that would be causing this sort of load issue.

Have you tried to uninstall/re-install the Xbox App?

Here are steps below on how to uninstall and reinstall Xbox app:

1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.

2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.

3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage
*xboxapp*|
Remove-AppxPackage

4. Hit Enter.

Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.
