Two Xbox’s, one gold membership, one for me one for my family, only one can play at one time.

Hello,

i have an xbox series S

my old xbox one i gave to my step dad,

we have an account each. They are on both xbox consoles. I have shared my gold subsription with him.

however. I can play fine, he can play fine but when we play at the same time it will kick one of use out and will say:

“your other xbox is already playing, you can only play time game at a time.” Why is this?

Does this mean that when one of us is playing. The other one cant? Why is this? He can play my games and gold but not play together?

ive tried using the set as my home xbox etc but doesnt work.

any help would be sound.

If your account is the one with the subscription, then only make the console that he is using the Home console. Do not also make your console Home and do not use his account to set Home. Only your account on his console should be set to Home. That's it for both consoles. Also make sure that your account is not set to auto-login on his console.

When playing on the 360 each person would need to have a Gold membership if they wanted to play online.

If you were using an Xbox One only one person would need a Gold membership to play. That membership could be shared amongst all family members on the Xbox One console.

The Xbox One console allows a Gold membership holder to share their Gold access with one entire Xbox One console, whomever is playing on it. While the Free member is playing online with the Home Gold console, the Gold member can then play online at the
same time using another console that is not set up with Home Gold. Therefore, 1 Gold membership can cover two consoles.

It is true that in preparation for the Xbox One launch the family plan was discontinued and existing users were converted to standard LIVE Gold accounts. Reason being, the Xbox One is capable of enabling an Xbox LIVE Home Gold account instead. The Xbox
LIVE Home Gold service allows ANY profile that logs into your Xbox One console to have access to your live services. I see the dilemma for you is that you want two Xbox(s) for two children. If it is not possible for them to share an Xbox One, then you really
only have the option of purchasing two consoles and two standard LIVE Gold memberships. As for Netflix, if you only have one console and one LIVE Gold membership, you can only watch Netflix on that console. But, it you have two consoles and two LIVE Gold
memberships, you should be able to watch Netflix on each console, provided that Netflix allows more than one user to be logged into the same Netflix account from different "locations". Otherwise, you might need two Netflix memberships too. If my siblings
and I didn't want to share our Super Nintendo, my parents said "Tough dookie! Learn to share "your toys"". My, how times have changed. LOL

can some one let me know about that im going to buy two xbox 360 making it three of them in my home do i have to get gold membership for all of them or can i get the family membership
