Two xboxes in the same house connection problems

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. This i suspect is a common problem but I couldnt find the answer on the communities.

I have two xbox ones. Both connect to the internet. I have two xbox gold accounts. The plan is for both on my children to be able to play Fortnite for example at the same time. I have not been able to get this to work satisfactorily yet. Both can get
on the game so no problems so far but only one is able to use his headphone/microphone. When they are playing different games the problem is repeated so one plays Minecraft on one xbox and other plays Rocket League in the other room, only one can use a microphone
and communicate with friends.

Any ideas/solutions ? It is not a microphone hardware issue.

It sounds like both headsets (mics) are only synced to one Xbox, likely the first one they were hooked up to. Try re-syncing one of them to a specific Xbox, and then keep the other to its Xbox, and it should work.

I'm having same exact problem. Tried everything every suggestion. Everytime I 'test connection' it tell me it's a firewall or ISP problem. I have two xboxes in the house and the other connects just fine......help!

I agree with ArminatorX in that you need only to open the standard port to point towards your husbands console and the extra ports to point to yours. These are
incoming ports ONLY. All the other ports (80, 53 etc.) do not need to be open, as there are no hosted services on the console that need them. Your firewall should automatically allow
outgoing communications on all ports.

If you enable uPNP on your router, the consoles should take care of opening the port it needs automatically when configured in the consoles network settings.

We have now purchased a second Ultimate membership and uncrossed the home console designations. We completed deleted the other's user data from our own consoles. Thank you. I'll run through this list tonight and see if it works.

Sorry, I forgot to update. I've reversed everything and gone back to the AT&T connection since the router was not helping at all.
