Two xboxes and three accounts

I have an Xbox 360 and and Xbox one S

There are three gaming names/avatars - each has an "account" at Xbox..

I switch between them all the time.

I subscribe to gold.

I believed that once I had got gold it would cover me for both the Xboxes and all of the three avatars.

I tried using the One box as the 'Home' console and both consoles have all three "accounts" on them. I can only get one "account" to work with gold.

What am I doing wrong?

Just some accounts, on my Xbox there is three accounts and two are working, one isnt (trust it to be my account) x

If only one account has gold then that account can get onto xbox live on any console regardless of the "my home xbox" feature.

Xbox live sharing does not work on xbox 360, so you will need more subscriptions for each other account that doesn't have gold.

On the xbox one the my home xbox feature will share xbox live gold and digital games (not all DLC) to all other accounts on that console when the account with gold is the "my home xbox" account but that does not share to backwards compatible games on xbox
one.

 

Hi, ChiefJoboo is correct with this. You cannot share gold between the Xbox One & The Xbox 360. You do need a seperate gold account for each profile on the Xbox 360. It would be nice if they changed it, but I don't think they have any plans to do so.

 

So if I stick to my Xbox one all three can get 'gold' benefits from my gold subscription - is that correct?

If I use my 360 only I can get the benefits of my gold subs. It affects me in terms of cloud storage too.

Trouble is that some games can not be played on my Xbox one.

Xbox One is able to share Xbox Live Gold from one account to all accounts on the console. The Xbox 360 does not have the ability to share one account's Xbox Live Gold to all other accounts on the console. The Xbox One will store saved data in the cloud
as long as the console is connected to the internet. The Xbox One will also save backwards compatible data to the cloud. If you are moving from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, we recommend

uploading your saved data to the cloud from the Xbox 360. The link we provided will have the steps on how to complete that process. Be sure to let us know the results!

I am actually keeping my Xbox 360 as there are some games I cannot play on backpat such as for example Dark Sector and a special favourite Lost Planet.
