Two xbox, two game problem

We have two xboxs and two legitimate copies of mw2 in our house. We’ve been able to play together since the game was released until this week. Now whenever one of us logs into the game the other can’t. The only thing i can think that might have happened
is my son logged on to my xbox at one point while his was downloading something. I wonder if this has created some association between the devices that makes them think we’re trying to play the game with only one licensed copy. We’ve both uninstalled and
reinstalled MW2, no luck.

One issue to also consider. On january 22nd there was a patch issue specifically with MW that caused major problems for the better part of two full days. I would also try to fully download the game to one console, play a match before starting to reinstall
on the second one. Just to make sure they fully work independently of whomever is logged in to eliminate tge possibility of a general game issue

Problem started after 22 Jan update. We have tried the download solution, unfortunately without success.

Even now if one of us completely logs out of MW2 the other will be able to log in and start playing on their console, we just cant play multiplayer together at the same time.

Hi,

If its digital games , you have to check if both consoles are "Home" for each account, i mean on your Xbox set your console as home and and son's Xbox set it as home for his account.

If its game disc > uninstall all content from MW2 , then re-install game and wait 100% before try to play

Is it that both accounts can't play online MP at the same time? Or is it they both can't have the game running at all at the same time? Do both accounts have an active XBL subscription?
