Two Xbox, two accounts, one game, family, online?

Hello, can anyone help me?

I play on Xbox one S and I have another Xbox one.

I lent my Xbox one to my wife (living in her parents house since the beginning of the Coronavirus containment).

My xbox account logs in automatically on both Xbox.

She already have an Xbox account (that I upgraded to an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a month). I have a Xbox Live Gold account.

I created a family group, she joined it with an adult account.

I have some games installed on both Xbox.

Last night we tried to play together some games we used to play local on my Xbox one S but I couldn't invite her to join any game.

We tried to play together some games like : Trivial pursuit, Overcooked, Speed runners, Ultimate Chiken Horse (triple A games, i know ) it was not possible to invite her to join the game to any of them.

She logged in with her account on the Xbox one and I am logged in on my account on the Xbox one S.

I don't understand why is it not working?

Is it because I only have one copy of each game? ( That would be stupid and very expensive two buy a second copy of the 184 games I own ).

Please can someone explain me what am I doing wrong? Thanks

Do you own the game digitally? If so you can setup up game sharing between the two xboxes with the home xbox feature. Each xbox would need the others set as home. So your wife's xbox would need to be set as your home xbox and vice versa. Then what ever
games each account owns can be played from that home xbox. Also if you were experiencing trouble with party chat xbox has been having a few issues lately.

I appreciate it that you attempted to write all that in English from French. I'm surprised.

However, I believe that you need 2 copies of the game for you & your wife to play the same game together with or without a family account. But, does your wife have other games that her parents have & that you have also?

What I mean is: Does her parents have some of the same games that you have so you can play together? If so, you can always try that.

But, I don't have a precise answer for your main issue here & I'm sure someone else would try to answer this question for you!

Most of the games we own are digital yes :eek:

bought on the Xbox Store and installed on both console.

Yes both console are set as my Home console, with automatic login on my account.

She can play every game we own on my Xbox One without issue.

No worries about the party chat we are not using it to talk to each other.

The only problem we have is that we can't play online together (she can't send me an invite to join her game and same goes with me I can't invite her to play online with me )
