Two Xbox ones same house chat issue

Hi all, I recently purchased my second console as my son had kidnapped my 1st one . I have been enjoying playing aw and gta online with him as opposed to taking turns. The problem I'm having is the chat between the two headsets is sketchy at best. Sometimes
it's crystal clear and others it fades away or totally stops working. It sounds stupid but even something like him closing his room door seems to make a difference. He can chat with his friends living miles away but not with me 14ft away. I've assigned each
console a static IP address and am now out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated, I've tried live chat and spent hours searching online with no luck. Posts concerning multiple consoles are rare and those answering this issue is non-existent . Thanks

If your account is set as home on her console then her account should receive the benefits of gold.

How ever while using your console only the account that has purchase the gold subscription will have access to gold features. (Online Play, Voice Communication, and Gold Deals)

Essentially the way Gold sharing works is any addition accounts on the home Xbox of the gold account will also receive benifits.

That means that if I setup the home console in the bedroom, she won't be able to play anything that needs live if I'm playing in the living room?

 

Sorry meant to add, this happens on party and game chat. It even happened when I tried Skype as a workaround.

 

When both consoles are turned on, what NAT settings does each console see?

Some routers don't handle multiple consoles very well and will put one (generally the one turned on second) into Strict NAT settings.

I have two consoles on my home network (one for me and one for my wife) and got a router that supported gaming - NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (R7000).

On my old Linksys router I got the same issue you describe as well as the occasional multiplayer connection issues.

Apart from that my problem is exactly as u described including the occassional multiplayer issues. I have ordered the best router my talktalk internet can provide the huawei HG635 and hope that sorts it. I'm currently using huawei HG533. Was hoping there
was a way to move one of the mics onto a different channel or something. I'll check out your modem if the new one doesn't solve the issue, thanks.

 

I have been having the same problem with ours. We have been having connection errors trying to play online with each other and having no party chat. I'm down stairs and girl friend is up stairs. I am wired and she is wireless. I did several things to fix
this. We use a Dlink router, DIR655. We both have 360s as well on the same network. We would always have open NAT on 360, but only have 1 x1 open and 1 x1 strict. So in the settings I switched the x1s and the 360s. So now we have open NAT x1s and not so good
on 360s. After I did that, I went into the x1 settings on both x1s, made sure neither were set to be the HOME xbox. Did a shut down cycle, unplugged for a minute, then reconnect and power on. When getting on game, everything connected for co-op and party chat
worked. That is how I fixed it.

What made you untick the home box from one x1 and when did u retick it.

Have you had to do these steps again or has it been fine ever since.

So my idea worked once. Making changes in the network with the router, turning off the home xbox on each console and power cycling. It worked once and then BAM, nothing works anymore. I have to power down cycle twice now just to get online, and then when
I do, I can't play co-op with anyone or any game. So awesome.
