Two Xbox One's on one network having NAT issues on games.

I have a TP-Link TD-8616 modem and a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router with both Xbox's hardwired to it.

Games like Rainbow Six Siege and Grand Theft Auto V will have issues when both Xbox's are both connected to the same game/lobby.

In the network settings of both Xbox's it says the NAT is open, but I'm guessing the problem has to do with both Xbox's trying to connect to the same port that the games are using?

I have UPnP on and Port Forwarding/Triggering turned off.

Sounds like NAT or network issues. Sometimes when two people have a certain network config you can play and chat with other people just fine, but not someone else with your same issue.

My wife and I used to have a similar issue with chat in OG Destiny. Check your NAT and make sure it is open not moderate or strict.

This is the support article for double NAT. Basically seems like it's an issue with having your gateway and your router doing the same tasks.

The more simple your network the less things there are to go wrong. If you have a router and a gateway and can get yourself to just the gateway you'll be better off.

 

somebody else had a problem like that with a nighthawk , they had to enable or disable something ..."smart connect" or something like that ....I cant seem to find it at the moment...

 

also , you may want to check the firmware on your router and update it , or restore it to factory defaults ....upnp is all that should be needed on that router...

 

nevermind about the "smart connect" , I found that but its for wireless.... if the firmware and restore to defaults don't help , you may have to give or reserve ip addresses to each xbox , port forward one and DMZ the other ...but that SHOULDNT be necessary
