Two Xbox ones in a family....best way to hook up, home xbox or seperate

We have a Xbox one now for a few yrs, now I want another in the home for myself, so we are not fighting over the one Xbox.

I know we can hook it up so the first Xbox one would be the "home" box , but it seems there is some limitations when that is done. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I want to be able to play some of the same games already purchased, using my second xbox. Can this only be done if the two are connected using the "home" set up? I also want to be able to watch streaming movies.

At some point I would like to play games with my other family member. Do we have to buy 2 digital copies of a game?

Would it be better to just hook up the second box separately under my own account? If so, how many accounts can a person have? I have one already within the first Xbox, would I just use the same account for the second box? Would I have to purchase my own
Gold live or can it be shared? Already have gold live in the first Xbox account.

Please let me know the best way to do all this. Thanks!

    :)

    Multiple XBOX Ones

I have two Xbox Ones in our house. Do I have to have two different gold accounts or can I set up a family and share the same account?

    Thanks,

Two xbox consoles, how to set up logins and xbox live

Hi, I am struggling to find out the best way to set up two xbox consoles. I have set up family members within my account, therefore there is my account with xbox live attached and my two kids accounts so they can login on the one (home console) and use xbox
live. But the second console the xbox live doesn't work. Is there any point in setting up the family members? How do I get xbox live on the second console, does this need to be purchased again but I can't purchase on my account?

    thanks Chris

if the games are connected to your account, you can sign in and use them on any console, not just the Home console. So you could leave the one console as your Home console that everyone uses, and then you can use the second console as your own without any
    issues.

Going slightly off topic here, but another problem which you may step into, by having multiple Xbox consoles, connecting through the same router Internet connection, would be if one of your consoles get diagnosed with a restricted form of NAT (Network Address
    Translation).

If that would be the case, make sure yo find your way back to forums and we'll work from there.

Update: We bought and Xbox one S and so far love it!

Today thought we my son and I tried to play a multiplayer game using both boxes so we can play online privately. For some reason the Xbox one S is not letting us play any online games unless the game is purchased a second time?? The main Xbox one has a bunch
of purchased downloaded games and is the "Home box".

We have tried everything to figure out why we can't play together and why is it telling us " You can't play this game because you don't own it" it is under my son's account as most of the purchases have been made on the older xbox over the past couple yrs.

We tried having both of us under "Add a family member" on the new box to see if that worked but didn't. So on both Home box and secondary box each of us are added as family members on each box.

What are we doing wrong? And do I really have to purchase games again just to play online together?

We both have Xbox live separately. The boxes are set up with the older Xbox under my son's account and the new xbox one s is under my account, with each other added as family members.

This is very frustrating and confusing to say the least...please help.

Which account were the purchases made from? If they were made from your son's account, he would need to make the S his home console so you can access the games there and he can play on the other.
