Two Weeks, Two Controllers, Kaput

have you updated the controllers?

 

Have you done the seperate update for the controllers?

 

Not to my knowledge . . . I'm guessing this does not happen automatically? I've certainly "synced" them with my machine. Again though, at one point they were both working fine. I'll be happy to give the separate update a try though?

 

I attempted the to do the update, given these directions:

and it says that there is no update available

 

takeout battery pack.. plus in using micro USB, restart your console.. go to setting and you will see if you need to update

 

If it was the controller and your characters in Fifa move on their own then I would expect your character in Black Flag to also have issues, if there aren't any discernible problems with BF apart from the usual AC mechanics failures, (leaping in the wrong
direction) then I doubt the issue is the controller.

 

The new control pads are rubbish quality compared to the Xbox 360 control pad. I've returned seven so far since last November in total due to dull left bumpers and permanently depressed left analogue sticks, and I'm lucky to play a couple of times a week.

Absolutely shocking quality.

 

The controller that I got with my console was absolute junk. The fit and finish was horrible and it whistled when in vibrated. My "fix" was to sell it to Gamestop for credit lol.

With that being said, I've bought two "limited edition" controllers (TitanFall and CoD AW) and I believe them to be of significantly better quality. It is as if those controllers are/were manufactured somewhere else (as compared the standard black controller).


My suggestion to you is that if you find yourself in the position to have to purchase another one do not by a standard black controller but instead pick up one of the "limited" ones. There have been 4 released to date.

 

I suggest the problem is with you and not the controller if you have gone through seven.

 

I've had problems with my controller too. I bought my XBone about two months ago, within a week the 'right D pad' button just stopped working. So I sent it back to Microsoft repaires and they luckily sent me a brand new replacement.

 

Its (probably) not the nyko battery pack I have four of them and I have no problems with my controls.

 

people that tend to play FPS mostly will go through controllers much MUCH faster than a casual gamer.. the constant push push move move push for running and sprinting on the left stick will eventually cause it to drift...

Is it MS's fault or the player fault for being heavy handed? Probably a bit of both... the controllers could be made better, that is for sure... but better build = better materials = more $$. As it is $60 for one is too much...And we can help by not being
so abusive on them...

 

I personally think the manufacture of some X1 controllers is different to other X1 controllers. Some are lasting over 12 month's and some day's? I don't think it's anything to do with how they're treated tbh.

Take My controllers as an example. 360 controllers always lasted me around 6-8 months before the left stick would start drifting, and it always drifted left too. My X1 day one controller (even though it feels cheap) has lasted me over 12 months. I actually
just went and bought the army came controller for a bit of a change, it actually has a more solid feel to it compared to the day one controller.

 

My 360 controller started "drifting" at some point but it was never really concern. As soon as you flicked the stick in another direction that was quickly remedied. This is entirely a different beast.

 

Not when three of them had the exact same fault (dull bumper button) out of the box, when opened in store pal.

I look after my console and controllers. If my Xbox 360 control pad is still going strong after a couple of years, but my Xbox One controller cannot handle me using it, I think that points to the quality of the controller, to be quite frank.

I've had PS2 controllers handle more abuse.

Garbage build quality is garbage. Doesn't matter how much you like the console. The controllers are rubbish.
