Two Red Rings when playing a game?

Hello, well, i thought i might post in here, as I have no idea what else is going on, as my Xbox 360 is always giving me two red lights whenever i play games like red dead redemption and etc... and I'd like to know how to fix it, as it is an old Xbox 360,
and I don't think Microsoft support would support an old one. Anyways, what happens is that when i get straight into a graphicy sort of gameplay, it crashes and gives me two red rings, now i cleaned out the old Xbox 360 quite some time ago, so could it be
that it is full of dust again? Or could it be just that it is getting old, and i need to get myself a new one? Would love some help with this.

Xbox keeps getting half red ring of death

The half red ring occurs only when I'm playing BO 2 zombies.

 

Console still "overheating" during gameplay

I appreciate the advice, but I'm not sure if you understand. Normally, when it overheats for real, I get the two red rings. But while playing GTA 5, I get the two red rings, but I can't feel any excess heat like if I were to keep my xbox running until it
actually overheats or even for a few hours. So, can certain games put extra strain on an xbox? If that's the case, then I can understand the extra cooling. I just don't want to put out the cash unless I'm sure it will help.

 

You could try cleaning it out, how many flashing lights do you get? Two rings, you mean it flashes all four twice? Two rings on the left mean it's overheating, while all three except the top right one, means it's a hardware failure and you need to have it
serviced. Bottom left is also hardware failure, although normally your console will spit out an error code on the TV screen. All 4 red lights mean it's a video problem. Either a simple AV problem, or something far more serious.

Microsoft still does support servicing on these consoles, but you'll have to pay if your console is out of warranty (which it probably is). I'd call Microsoft if you can't troubleshoot the error and see what they have to say. They're pretty chill dudes

I mean two red rings as just for the overheating part, I have cleaned it out before and I spoke to Xbox Support and they said I'd Either have to find technicians where i live, or send it to them, which i am not really rich, but thanks for trying to help

 

They recommended third party techs? Wow... Well, it's probably just a heat dissipation issue. Can easily be fixed with some new thermal paste... as far as third party techs, that's kind of a violation of TOS I think isn't it? Unauthorized modifications to
the console? :S

You could try buying those external fans for your console, or putting your console in an open area where it can get more air...or in a controlled temperature area. I can't suggest a third party tech or doing it yourself here, so I won't.

too long; didn't read: It's not a difficult issue to fix. It just needs to stay cooler than it is right now.
