Two Red Ring of Death

I decided to play my xbox 360 finally since it's been about 3 months. I turn it on and immediately see two red rings (player 1 and player 3). I do have my xbox 360 horizontal. so if it was vertical it would be (player 1 and player 2). Now this didn't
make any sense because 2 red rings means it's overheating. Which isn't the case because I haven't played it in 3 months and it's out in the open not stuck on some shelf. There is nothing on xbox's or microsoft's website that helped me fix it. I have also tried
taking apart my power block and my xbox 360 and did some cleaning. So now I have turned to the community to see if anybody could assist. Should I try a different power bock and see if that is the problem? Any other ideas on what I should do?

online assistance all points to overheating, as you said.

If it's out in the open, and you've removed the dust from it, does it still do that when you stand it on it's side?

If even after that you still get the same error, then it will need repair.

Unfortunately if the console/power supply unit has been opened it would void any Microsoft Warranty options we have available if that is the case you may consider a third party source of repair in your local area. Or maybe consider an upgrade to an Xbox
