Two Realms Subscriptions on One Microsoft Account

    Hello,

I have had a Minecraft Realms subscription through Apple subscriptions for years now. Starting in August 2020, Microsoft also started charging me for Minecraft Realms (the same subscription, the 10 players one). I was NOT notified via email for the first,
or any recurring charge, for this subscription. It's worth noting, I'm emailed for every single other purchase I make on my Xbox, even my recurring Live subscription sends two emails per charge.

I figured, "whatever, Microsoft gets to keep an extra $32 from me for the 4 months I didn't notice this. I'll correct it for the 5th month." I cancelled my Realms subscription through Apple to find out that the Microsoft subscription doesn't actually enable
me to use my realm. When trying to long onto the Realm it says "expired". Ok, next thought, maybe this second Realm from Microsoft is for a different world file? I went to make a new world, went to make it on Realms, and was met with a "Buy a Subscription"
screen. There wasn't any indication of "you have 1 Realm subscription available to use" or anything of that nature, but it sure looked like it was willing to let me buy yet another subscription.

So Microsoft wasn't dual supporting my one Realm that I pay through Apple (meaning, two subscriptions covering the same world), and Microsoft didn't give me any sort of credit to make a second Realm on my account with the second subscription payment. To
put on top of that, when I went to reinstate my Realm via Xbox, I got a pop-up saying "you have STARTED creating a Realm with the billing account on this device. Would you like to complete creating that Realm with this Microsoft Account as the owner?" From
that pop-up, it shows Minecraft thinks my Microsoft subscription wasn't even completed...but I was still being charged for it for 5 months now. I ended up cancelling my Microsoft subscription and reinstating Realms via Apple, which immediately returned functionality
    to my Realm.

I have to be missing something. Is it intentional to have multiple Realms subscriptions on the same Microsoft account? If so, what is the benefit? I don't appear to be able to run 2 realms with 2 subscriptions from my one Microsoft account. I don't want
to do this, but I'm trying to understand if this is an intended mechanic, or if I was somehow being double charged in an odd way because I haven't found other people asking this type of question.

I'd be happy to post pictures of my billing or the pictures I took when navigating Minecraft on Xbox after I cancelled the subscription via Apple.

    Thank you,

    Kevin

    :)

Won't let me buy a realm?

    Hey Brooke!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I am here to help.

It might be possible that the Microsoft account that you were using to renew your realms subscription was different from the one that was migrated to your Minecraft account.

To confirm this kindly locate your order transactions for your Minecraft game and your previous realm subscription history on your Microsoft account by signing on to account.microsoft.com > Payment and Billing > Order History.

As for the realm subscription: On account.microsoft.com > go to Services and Subscription.

If you are unable to find the Minecraft game transaction and your realm subscription history under the Order History and Services and Subscription tabs, try to find it on your other Microsoft accounts.

If you have managed to find the Minecraft transactions on the Microsoft account, use the same account to renew your realms subscription.

I need help, I'm unable to access "Realms" on Minecraft

No luck, I still receive the same message. I have Xbox Gold for both accounts and it shows up under the subscriptions along with my realms subscription.

Also, there are only the same two profiles on the Xbox One so there was no Gold subscription on that console...

Xbox has stolen my money? Please tell me that Xbox has not turned into thieves!

Sorry to hear you're having issues with this. I always found Microsoft very helpful when dealing with subscription issues, so I'm shocked!

Not sure if any other ambassador can help me out here, but isn't Minecraft Realms a subscription service? They could easily refund the sub and cancel the Realm.

What does it show on the 'Service & Subscriptions' screen?

I've looked at this my own account and I'm finding it impossible to take out two subscriptions for the same service on the same account.

Two xbox accounts on the same Microsoft account

Hello, I have a similar but different problem. In my case, I migrated a Mojang account to a Microsoft account and ended up with two Xbox profiles. It seemed to me that the migration process created the second profile instead of re-using the existing one.

In the Minecraft Launcher, there are now two Xbox profiles available to choose from. One of them is indeed the migrated account and the other one is not (it contains all the other games associated with this Microsoft account except Minecraft).

I can play the Minecraft game, all realms are visible (own and friends) exactly as before the migration, all good so far. But my own realm has expired despite it being automatically renewed up until the migration (I think the migration terminated the auto subscription).

My problem is now that I can not log into the Minecraft Realms service with the Microsoft account because the default Xbox profile is not the one with the migrated Mojang account. It seems that the Minecraft Realms service makes assumptions about the associated Xbox tag and uses the default to identify the user, or at least it seems that way. It doesn't recognize that a Microsoft account can have several Xbox profiles/tags associated with it.
