two Microsoft accounts connected to one email

hi,

about 2 years ago I brought a copy of Minecraft java edition online and used a Mojang account to sign in, a year after that when prompted to, I converted that Mojang account to a Microsoft account. now when I'm trying to download the game onto another desktop I cannot sign in as when I do it uses the email to sign in to a Microsoft account that I never made and won't allow me to access the other account hooked up to the same email. is there any way of deleting the new account and trying to get the first account working?

any suggestions are welcome.

to change the email address connected to your xbox live account (used for loggin in and downloading the profile etc), please follow the steps on this link:

support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

If there are currently somehow two profiles connected to the same email address (Microsoft Account) try changing one of the accounts to another Microsoft Account (email address) that might fix the issue

Ah, also the gamertag I use on the Xbox IS connected to a different email to the one connected to my Microsoft account, so how can I delete the first one and have my second gamertag as my primary one, as obv the system just recognises two different people?

Hi,

as I said, the former email does not exist anymore, so there's just one email left to log in with, which is email "B" as described above. Email "A" is no longer registered at Microsoft and also does not exist as a mail address anymore.

I already reset the password before posting here. Resetting the password has no effect on the issue. The only proof I have is me seeing two X-Box accounts in my game launcher. Since I merged two Microsoft accounts I assumed that the X-Box accounts would be merged as well, as these do not exist as standalone accounts without connection to a Microsoft account.

How are you saying that you have two profiles under one email? This would not be possible as you are only able to register one Xbox profile per Microsoft account. Please explain how you use two different accounts under one email, is there two separate gamertags
for you and one for them?

Unfortunately you are unable to move the Gamertag from one Microsoft account to another either. The only way to actually update the email address would be to

Update the Primary Alias on the account as CIDkidzPILLZ has mentioned above.
