Two faulty mic's and a lot of sarcasm

    Good evening Xbox community,

now I know this isn't a huge deal because the mics aren't particularly expensive however I have gone through two in less than a month. Frustrated I contacted support only to be met with fierce resistance due to my warranty being expired. I understand and
respect that. My concern is that I will have to continuously buy new Mic's to be able to play and communicate with my friends online. Does anyone else have this problem with the mics? It a getting rediculous and I just wish someone would own up to it and make
it right. The supervisor I met was extremely sarcastic. Very frustrating...

    :)

Headset Adapter - Chat not heard on my end.

Probably explains why a lot of folks are having issues with there mic's lately if it is dodgy firmware affecting the Microsoft adapter. That really sucks.

Hi MacSweeney, you haven't mentioned what issue you had with the mic. What was occurring?

Ah, I can hear my friends, however I cannot be heard. If I can be heard its jumbled static. This is the same problem with both.

  6. Be careful with the wire where it's attached to the adapter if you tug on it the wires are prone to breaking. Microsoft made a huge mistake not offering the 3.5mm chat adapter with the Xbox one in the box, instead they gave us the junk headset which is
actually amazing mic but poor quality. At the very least they could of had a proprietary audio jack with a breakaway that won't limit damage.

I would suggest getting the chat adapter instead of a new mic then you can plug any 3.5mm headset mic or even 3.5mm phone/iPhone headphones to use.

I have the XBOX ONE Stereo headset that came with the 3.5mm chat adapter but I get clicking sounds during gameplay and the dashboard since the launch of the product, I have replaced the. 3 times and even replaced the Xbox one for another issue but didn't
fix. Many people on the forums have this clicking issue, and I have yet to see one that works properly in person without the clicking/popping sounds which is very annoying when you are listining to gameplay through the headset.

Microsoft has stayed completely silent on the chat adapter issue since the launch of the product with just a message from support that we are looking I to it, this was months ago when TITANFALL was launched and we have yet to get a followup response on the
    issue of the popping/clicking/static.

My theory is the design was faulty to begin with and thus the silence. This is most likely a hardware issue with the design of the chat adapter and will never be fixed in a firmware/patch update, why else would they be silent for like 5 months on such a
major issue? The chat adapter sound like utter crap, and they should be recalled and replaced with a product that works but companies rarely do the right thing, they usually only recall something until they are forced to.... Very sad, as a 12 year Xbox
live vet and a owner of every Xbox at launch and currently 2 xbox ones with kinect, I am disgusted in how Microsoft has been handling the support for the XBOX ONE.

I really thought things would change under Phill Spencer but it seems to be more of the same Don Mattrick mantra. If Phill ever sees this then you really need to address the chat adapter issue, I'm sure atleast a million units have been sold and you owe
us the consumer who purchased the product an explanation on what's causing the issue and if there is possibility for a fix then you need to tell us and you need to replace our chat adapters. This issue has been going on for way too long, no more excuses, if
you are pissing off one of you most avid fans then how do you think the average consumer feels? Get with the times already.

I've personally been seeing a lot of headset issues (hearing but not being heard and vice versa) actually being tracked back to network related issues. A strict NAT and wonky connections have been the biggest factors I've seen thus far.

I personally have the chat headset that came with it and recently got a stereo headset about a month ago and got my console back in March and haven't had an issue with either, hardware wise. I did have an issue where I couldn't communicate properly in chat
(game or Live) because I kept getting a strict NAT. I found out my crummy ISP's gateway was to blame and swapped it for a regular modem and bought a Netgear WNDR3400 and it's made a world of difference. No more NAT, clear as a bell comms.

Just an idea, but definitely worth looking into.
