Two Drives, One Game.

I have two versions of The Witcher 3 from the latest update that dropped the other day. One is on my external HHD which is plugged in to my Xbox Series X via USB (the original install), the other is on my internal SSD that's on the XBSX itself (the updated version).

My question is do I still need the version of the game on my external HHD?

Stupid question I know, and I think I know the answer but looking for someone to shine some light on this.

Hello SieOne, Sorry to hear you're having toruble.

I have had this exact same issue with some of my games in the past. Go ahead and follow the regular steps to delete the game. Just before deletion you'll see an option that asks where you want to delete from? Internal, external or both. Just choose external and you'll be good

"can i copy xbox one games from one external hard drive to another" Currently, you can only have two copies of a game (well, three if you count the one that's always in the cloud). One copy on your Xbox and one copy on a single USB 3.0 external drive. However,
you should be able to have two external drives plugged into the Xbox and use the Move command to transfer the game/games from one to the other.

Add me to the list with this problem. I have two external drives.

One labled AAA - a Seagate

Second labled GwG - A WD MyPassport Ultra

Only reason I have two is to make game browsing easier, cause who wants to scroll to the right FOREVER!!!!!

The seagate works perfect, the WD is hit or miss. Sometime the XBOX one sees the drive, sometimes not. If the ONE does see the drive after awhile paying a game from the drive the game will crash and drive dissapears. Same thing with game transfers, or
game updates to the WD. It will fail after awhile and drive is gone.

Really a PITA to download all the game again. Have done so twice already as I ran the WD disc utilities and drive came back fine. ARGH!!!!

I would accept that if you could not install any games, but that is not the case, you can install one or two games and they function fine. Therefore if it can play one or two then it is not a firmware issue, its a firmware restriction. And not on the drives
but on the xbox.

Similar problem; I have a hard drive enclosure with two drives RAIDed for media and one formatted for games; since the latest update the games drive mounts fine but the media drive is invisible. Tried all ports, different cables, power cycled everything: no change. The media drive mounts absolutely fine on all my other devices, it's just the XBox One that doesn't recognise it
