    Two controllers with the same 'port' number


    Im having my mad catz racing wheel and official xbox controller assign to the same number (port 1), leaving my racing wheel without use. Even connecting the controller after startup and login does it still do it.

    2 Wired Controllers both "Sync" in the 1st Position (or as Player 1)

    I have tried all USB ports

    Today I have tried two different consoles in two different shops, both XBOX 4 GB slim with a kinect.

    The different consoles have the same problem with these two controllers.

    Xbox Wired Controllers, always auto assign as same player number.

    I have the same problem. I have two wired controllers and two wireless controllers. It does not matter what order I put connect them. The two wired controllers always take the same player number. Do I just need to buy a third wireless controller to get four
    players?

    Resync your controllers, or unplug them, and plug them back in.

    Hello,

    Is it affected by the sequence that you connect them after the console is started?

    Possibly connect the controller with a charge cable after the wheel connects. This should choose the secondary port.

    Alternatively I'd suggest that if you have two controllers to do the following:

    1. Turn console on and connect racing wheel

    2. connect controller one

    3. connect controller two

    4. if controller one shows in the same port as the wheel remove its battery so it disconnects

    5. log yourself in with the second controller and play with that (should be in 2nd port)

    You said you opened the ports?

    If both Xboxes are connected to the same router then you can't forward the ports to two Xboxes at the same time.

    This would be why you can't both connect to a lobby at the same time.

    If you have two or more Xboxes connected you need to use UPnP.

    You should not be using port forwarding, port triggering or the DMZ.

    Anyway you should post the make and model number of your router then maybe someone who knows that router can help you.
