Two controllers stopped working at the same time

I have an XBox one and two wireless controllers. The both stopped working this week in wireless mode. They both work with USB cord. I have tried new batteries and re syncing without any success. The troubleshooting on the website said I had to change controller,
but since both controllers stopped working at the same time during a session, I don't think it is the controllers.

Is there anything more I can try?

Controller issues?

Just this morning BOTH my controllers stopped working properly. The first controller the Right Stick won't work and when I switched to my other controller the Left Stick won't work.

Has anyone else experienced this? It seems odd that both controllers would stop functioning properly at the same time.

I have two controllers one controller stopped working with headset now the 2nd controller stopped working with both head sets. they can hear me but I cannot hear them.

 

try to power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX ONE" animation loading
screen when you power it back up.

then sync back the controllers

Yes I have, that said I should change controller, but since both stopped working at the same time it seems unlikely.

 

I agree, it's highly unlikely that two separate controllers would die at the exact same time.

Unfortunately that probably means that your console has developed a hardware fault with the controller interface. If the troubleshooting steps aren't helping to resolve the problem then the console will likely need to be sent in for repairs if you want to
use your controllers wirelessly again.

 

I tried that before writing here. Unfortunately it doesn't help at all.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I see you have tried quite a bit of troubleshooting to no avail. At this point, we suggest you give the

factory reset a shot. Just make sure you select the option to keep your games and apps.

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console.

Make sure you have your email and password as you will be asked to sign back in. Let us know if this helps!

 

I have done a factory reset now, but the controllers can still not be synced.

We appreciate the patience but we need a bit more information regarding the issue at hand, is the console part of the Insider Program? Have the controllers been synced to another console? Let us know so we can further assist in this issue!

 

Do you have another controller. It may be the wireless connectivity card on your console has failed

As far as I remember the console is not part of the Insider Program.

These controllers have only been synced with this console.

The console have had syncing problem before, and I had it in for Service because of that 2 years ago. Everything has worked fine since then.

In the spirit of being thorough, we suggest another reset of the console but this time make sure the only thing plugged in is the controller (to make sure the updates are being pushed through to the controllers) in case of interference (disconnect headsets,
external hard drives ect). Since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!
