Two Consoles One Game Owner

We have one XboxOne console already with all games purchased under the console owners acct. If we purchase a second console, can the current owner of the first console be the owner of the second console or will we be forced into potentially buying two copies
of co-op games?

You CAN play used games on Xbox One. Confirmed!!

the fee confusion comes from "installs". sure there might be a fee if you try to install that same game on another console .. it's no different from right now. you can't play the same game between two people on two separate consoles. they both have to
own the game. so if you attempt to install the same game on two consoles then obviously there would be a fee to do that on a second console. otherwise you're just buying one game and installing to every console you have. that's not how it works now, why
would it change?

the fee comes when that second console tries to "own" that game by installing it. the second console can still simply just play the game from disc.

Xbox Live Gold Family Pack Conversion

One gold account per console doesn't cover those of us who wish to own more than one console. It's not uncommon for families to own two, three, or more and for people to be playing at the same time.

You cannot have two Home consoles under one gamertag. However, what you can do is download the games that you've purchased digitally to the second console. You will be able to play those games on the second console with no issues. Others can play games
on your current console (Home console) without needing your gamertag signed in.

This does not work with disc based games. If you have disc based games then you would need to purchase a second copy.

IceStorm III

It's restricted to the owner and one of ten family members playing at the same time. It's not clear if two family could play along with the owner (owner on secondary console, family on tertiary console, family on primary console) or if the family check supersedes
the console check.

Most console owners don't game on PC. They're two separate markets. I think we will find that this will benefit the Xbox One as we're going to see a LOT of big PC game titles coming to the console.

Theory of Game

A disc based game can only be played on one console at at time. You can certainly buy a used copy of the game, but for physical games the license is on the disc itself, so it must be in the drive to play.

A digital copy could theoretically be played on two consoles at a time - the owner's home console and the console the owner is currently logged in to. For three players, you'll need at least two copies of the game (but I'll throw in my personal feelings
that you should support the developers and buy a copy for each player that wants to play simultaneously, just as if you had disc copies).

Bazajaytee

You can play any game on your console as long as the owners account is also logged in to the console. What you can't do is play at the same time on two consoles.
