  1. Two consoles E102 Error and other related issues?

Xbox One X, (14 months old) booted up the system as normal and was greeted with the trouble shooting page. If I remember correctly error message E101. Restarted the Xbox using the option on the trouble shooting page and the error
message has now changed to E102. (Quick internet search of options and recommendations) firstly I tried the system reset where you keep the games. This actually started to work, but halfway through it crashed and I was returned to the trouble shooting menu.
I tried this again but this time the Xbox restarted and went back to the TSM. Next I went for the complete factory reset. Same problem, screen goes black, Xbox resets and back to the TSM. Next option was the offline system update. I programmed the USB and
installed the file required. This time I booted up the Xbox using the method on pretty much all help sites, but the option for offline system update was grayed out so I couldn’t select it. Ive repeated the process many times with no success. At this point
I was pretty frustrated so dug out my old Xbox One console.

Got everything set up and she was running reasonably smoothly for a couple of days, few game crashes. Then one morning it wouldn’t read discs 0x8027025a and again I went through all the help sites and nothing worked so I powered
down for a while. I came back and bang, straight onto the troubleshooting menu Error E102. Seriously? I try everything I did with the One X, again no success and the offline system update is grayed out.

Now this is where it gets a little strange. Over the last couple of months whenever I turn my Xbox on (wired network connection) my brothers xbox (wireless connection) in another room on the other side of the house, completely
crashes. This has happened with the Xbox One X, Xbox One and Xbox One S. With my Xbox One (the most recent victim) I took it to my brothers room, hooked it up and now on a wireless connection it allowed me to successfully factory reset the Xbox. So I thought
great and hooked up the Xbox One X again on the wireless connection but it wouldn’t work and the offline update was grayed out.

Out of sheer frustration and wanting to enjoy some gaming before returning to work I’ve purchased an Xbox One S system, lucky number three? It will be Interesting to see if the same thing happens again, I’m not too hopeful at
this point. As when it was switched on for the first time, my brothers Xbox crashed... and so it begins.

Would there be a difference with wired and wireless network connections?

Why does my brothers Xbox crash as soon as I turn mine on?

Why is the offline system update grayed out and unable to be selected?

    What am I doing wrong?

Any help, insight or information would be appreciated.

    :)

"I turn my Xbox on (wired network connection) "

One thing to remember before you attempt a OSU is to disconnect the wired ethernet cable from the console.

You've done some great troubleshooting already. Trouble seems to be from multiple sources, so I don't think we're troubleshooting just one thing, or if we are, it's affecting multiple things. It's possible it's just one thing, but we would want to start
by isolating it. I also like how you say "Now this is where it gets a little strange..." long after it was already strange.

So we have the E10X error, which is indicative of a failed system update. You've followed most of the steps to resolve that with the troubleshooter and offline system update. It's return after troubleshooting and the fact that Offline System Update is
greyed out makes me want to start with investigating your Hard Drive or the boot media you have to execute the offline system update. Did you follow the instructions via the console, or have you visited the troubleshooting site on a PC ( https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution
)? Do you have the external USB media properly configured and loaded for the Offline Update data?

As for the other consoles in your house crashing with different connection types, that is strange. I would start by looking at your home network configuration and identifying if there is a conflict of addressing? Can you describe what happens to the other
console when it crashes? I would be curious what happens when your system is on, his is off, you get yours to a working "operational" state (as much as possible until we figure out the update errors), and then power his on; would that crash yours? I would
look at setting static IP addresses for each, or depending on your level of knowledge on configuring networks and what networking equipment you have, creating separate VLANs, to see if they still have the same issue? It's possible that there is a MAC cloning
situation or masking where it'll crash because on the distant end it's seeing two separate devices requesting different traffic that look like they're coming from the same source.

Let me know a bit more, and we can start with the next best steps. I would think that we would want to start with getting your system up and running and working, and then we can tackle the next issues, if they still persist. Being able to isolate the faults
will go a long way in untangling the really strange situation you're up against.

    Hi,

Firstly, thank you for your speedy response.

I’m using a 16gb usb drive which i have formatted to NTFS. There isnt anything else on the drive except the OSU1. I have followed the Troubleshooter start up (holding bind and eject etc.) which always takes me dirctly to the Trouble Shooter start up but
the Offline System Update is always grayed out.

In regards to the other system crashing it either completely freezes the game and requires a system reset or it has extremely bad in game lag.

When i’m online and he powers up, it has no effect on my console at all. Well it didnt until they both decided they had had enough!
