    Two brand new Series S consoles will not turn on.


    Hello.

    I recently purchased an XBox Series S from Bestbuy in Canada. I received it in good order, no damage, etc. It would not power on.

    I tried the following:

    - Plugging it into a known functioning power outlet.

    - Unplugging waiting 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 3 minutes then re plugging it in.

    - Plugging it in using an alternate, known functioning power cable.

    - Plugging it into another outlet in the house.

    - Using alternate, known functioning HDMI cable.

    - Using an alternate, known functioning television/monitor.

    I returned the unit to Bestbuy and ordered another one. SAME ISSUE!

    I pulled my Apple TV out of my entertainment unit and swapped in the XBOX - same plug, same HDMI cable. Still no dice.

    I guess it is possible that there is a bad batch being sold right now, but I find this rather odd to have two units DOA.

    I am a studio pro and am very technically savvy. This is just weird. Is there anything else I can try here? Do I send this one back, too?

    I figured it out. For all of my bluster about being technically saavy, I was hitting the incorrect button to power the unit up. Having never used an Xbox before, I was hitting the only apparent button which was the pairing button, not realizing that the "X" button at the top of the unit was a button. User error. Thanks for your response.

    Yeah, there are already 2 brand new consoles the Xbox series X and the Xbox Series S. I think that the new Xbox series X is amazing, but I expect it will be along time before a new console is develpoped.
