Two brand new games, neither will install from disc.

Hey everyone.

I just bought Dragon Age: Inquisition and Far Cry 4 for my Xbox One a few hours ago, and am having issues. Before I explain, just let me say that yes, I have attempted to follow the designated support steps, "disconnect from internet, hold power button
for 5-10 seconds, install offline... ect." and this has not worked for either disc.

Now, when I attempt to install either disc, a notification will come up saying the game is ready to install, but literally one split second after supposedly starting to install, a notification will come up saying "installation stopped.". I have also got
the error message telling me the disc may be damaged or needs to be cleaned but I have a hard time believing BOTH discs have physical issues, the fact that they look immaculate supports this.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing one of my other Xbox One games, with no troubles at all. I'm confused as all hell and have my receipt in hand, this is just one big $150 headache...

Install freezes at 45%

My game will not install. I've tried 2 different discs, both brand new straight from the package.

1) reset xbox, try install - fail

2) try install offline - fail

3) factory reset try install - fail

4) clear blu-ray persistent data, reset alternate mac address try offline install - fail.

5) Tried a different game disc - fail.

There are no problems with either disc (both brand new, opened from package) and I've tried both discs with multiple resets, clearing of caches, install offline, etc....

Hey there!

So you've tried playing the game from both discs and neither work? Which disc did you install from, disc one or two? I recommend uninstalling the game, holding down the power button for 10 seconds or so, and then reinstalling using disc 1 and trying again.

Let us know if that works or if you still can't load the game.

 

Update: I went and returned the games for 2 new copies. Same problem. Bad batch of discs?

 

I'm having the same problem I bought far cry 4 for xbox one and it says installation started then it immediately changes to installation stopped

 

Right now I think the xbox live and cloud servers are on the fritz. Just wait theres nothing we can do. I cant even sync any of my data.

 

I don't see why xbox live would have anything to do with it I'm trying to install off of the disc. do I need an internet connection to install off of the disc? if so why now? I have never needed it before I install all my games using the disc while my xbox
is offline

 

SirPsycho beat me to the punch on that one. Yeah though, XBL issues should affect offline disc installation in no capacity whatsoever. Never had issues such as this until now.

I just reset my XBO to factory setting in a last ditch effort to fix this. I'll post how it turns out once i finish downloading the initial update... taking forever, slow internet, ugghh....

 

Same exact issue with DA:I deluxe on xbox one "installation stopped". Exchanged game disc, same behavior. Uninstalled / reinstalled old game no problem

 

My game far cry 4 installed fine before xbox server status showed limited. Now I cant install or use any game and apps. Im willing to bet when they fix the issue. Your games will work fine. Their servers have something to do the installs.

 

Same exact thing happened to me haha I just got off the phone with the xbox guy he reckons you need the latest blu ray update before it will play! Which I don't understand but anyway I'm not on the internet with mine so if anyone has the latest version of
the x1 blueray app and it's still not working I will let xbox know about this cheers

 

hey im 360 but my copy of DAI: Delux wont install. it`ll get about 15% done then rebring up the initial install start box. when i go through with it then it will cut the download time in half and either load back to that point or just instantly repeat the
process. ive tried this disc on 2 other consoles. and this is the same on one and the other stops on the last download and says theres no room but thers 20 GB available. i cant drive swap since the hard drives are different. newer and older. ive cache cleared,
offline install attempt, cleaned a immaculate disc. if anyone has something to say to help ill jump on it. thank you.

 

Downloaded the latest XBO update and both games installed with no issues whatsoever

 

So i have XBO COD 1TB. All was fine the first few days besides the no luck matchmaking. Now even though i have Halo Master Chiefs and it won't even load from disc. I can't load COD online either. Just freezes on COD screen, blinks once and stays there...Yes
i have tried the internet reset and the whole shebang...

 

I have this exact same issue but with 2k15. Stops installing right away, and I have the latest system update.
