Twitch update - laggy and harder to navigate

Hi, does anyone but me experience a full freeze on the streams after the twitch app update?

It happens every 15 sec, the sound keeps going but the picture freezes for 0,5-1 sec then continues.

Quite frustrating. Happens on all streams and continues to happen after app is reinstalled.

Tried on auto quality, source, mobile. Same story.

Need a solution or something to try out because it's quite annoying.

Part 2:

I thought the update was supposed to improve the experience , not make it worse.

I can no longer see what the channels I follow are streaming without actually entering it, it only shows if they are live or not when I show all my following channels. Needs to be fixed.

And my "sort by" option does not save, have to change to "last broadcast" every time I go on to twitch.

My console is set to "always on", I've tried a power cycle by pulling the plug.

Twitch broadcasting update

No I just shut mine down started it back up and it told me there was an update for twitch. I broadcasted for about 20 minutes. It's a little laggy but nothing to bad, but it does take a quarter of the screen up, which could get annoying.

Sorry to hear about the app issue! Since you have tried a power cycle, let's start by following these specific steps, which will involve Uninstalling and Reinstalling the
app as well as power cycling once again.

• Uninstall the Twitch app
• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the unit is fully powered off.
  
• Unplug the power supply from the back of the Xbox One console and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back in and power on.
• Reinstall the Twitch app.

Try those specific steps and post back to let us know how it goes!

 

Tried your steps in that specific order. Did not help. Just to be sure I even deleted my profile the second time I tried it but twitch was still freezing up.

I realized my twitch app was installed on my 5400rpm external harddrive, tried moving it to the internal hdd and it seems it has improved. I'll report back after I've tried more than one stream.

 

Seems it did the trick. The stream now only freezes once every 15ish minutes, but sound stops as well so that's probably because of the connection.
