TWITCH is linked to a DEAD ACCOUNT! HELP! No Twitch Support

Ok, So here is what happened.

I signed up for a Twitch account on my computer.

I then linked that new account to my XBOX One

I then saw that I spelled my Account name wrong.

So I DEACTIVATED my Twitch Account and signed up for a new one again.

Went to my XBOX One to Re-Connect it to this NEW account

NO GO! It gives me an error saying something is wrong every time I open Twitch.

I know what the problem is. It is linked to an account that I can no longer log into and disconnect my XBOX One from.

Does ANYONE know how to re-Activate a Twitch account? I have tried all day to try and find a way to get a hold of someone at Twitch. No such luck!

So Basically I will never be able to use Twitch, unless I am able to disconnect my XBOX One from that deactivated account.

I know this for a fact because when I log out of my main account on XBOX LIVE and sign in with a different account I can get right on to Twitch no problems no errors. I can even log into my new account and link my XBOX One to my Twitch on the second XBOX
LIVE account. Problem is, I don't want it connected to that second account. The moment I sign back into my main XBOX LIVE account, Twitch gives me the error.

Any Suggestions or help will be greatly Appreciated...

Twitch App (Xbox 360) Not Playing Streams

To update this thread: Twitch support ignored me completely, but I seem to have stumbled across a solution.

I didn't contact them until a week ago, and to do so I needed to create a Twitch account, something I did not have before. I linked said account to the Twitch App on my Xbox 360 console, and this seems to have resolved the issue!

I'm having the same issue. I just sent a note to the @XboxSupport twitter account to see what they recommend.

I've already tried deleting/reinstalling Twitch, and then a full shutdown/restart (pulled plug). Still no options seem available to change account settings.

 

I did the exact same thing. I talked to Xbox support about it and they said that I would have to contact Twitch. I sent them an email Tuesday morning, but they have yet to get back to me.

 

Bump! Having the exact same problem. Although I hate to hear others having issues I am also relieved that it wasn't just my One acting up.

 

G'day all! I'm afraid I can't directly help you with your Twitch accounts, but there are some steps you can take to get out of this state:

First off, please
reach out to Twitch support. It appears they're taking requests to undelete those accounts.

Next up, follow the steps they provide in these
two
tweets.

Once that's done, you should be good to go for broadcasting!

Wow I actually have an answer that nails it, OP have had same problem as all of you In here and just literally got up this morning to fix it and here is what I did.

1st- Go up to top left on xb1 screen to your gamerpicture/accounts....now where you would normally hit sign in go ahead BUT go below to "ADD GUEST" , this is going to put an identical you with the number 1 next to your GT, thts ok....now sign in or "Choose"
your GUEST and start twitch and you will see it loads np on that....it doesn't do what it does on our main GT.

2nd- Go to twich, try and sign in or if signed in go to your profile and scroll towards bottom where it says to "close account" and close it. Now sign up again but this time to whatever your name WAS add a 1 to it (same as guest) Make sure you VERIFY twitch
email before going any further.

3rd- Go back to xb1 now, still under that guest sign in...hit LOG IN and boom you have a new activation code.....go back to twitch and ACTIVATE.

4th- Now on XB1 not only is it working...but you can now log back into main GT and it will still work.

I just went and re-checked everything again to make sure I was not giving community bad info, everything is correct...the only thing now is you will have that 1 next to your name when streaming even under main GT, to me is no big deal and better then not
working at all, but thought I would at least let you know I have that 1 as well and even under main GT, all good though, cheers.
