Ok...so I looked at Twitch the other night and had a few questions.First-whats the big deal?Why would anyone want to watch someone else play a game they could be playing instead? I also noticed it cost 4.99 per month per channel subscription? That sounds
expensive considering theres ads on it.Its cheaper to get Netflix.Also,how much of this 4.99 do streamers get and can they make a living streaming full time?

I watch Twitch when I can't be playing. Usually in 5 to 10 minute spurts. I could be wrong(I don't subscribe to anyone), but I think the ads disappear when you subscribe. I don't know how much they get of the sub price, but Im sure quite a few can make
a good living streaming. Especially the streamers who can break the 10,000 viewer mark regularly.

 

Also I noticed they are able to stream 360 games.How is this possible? Is there some way to run a 360 through a PC? These people must spend a lot for equipment to achieve this.

The same reason people come on these forums to "talk" about games instead of "playing" them.

Nappy, the forums are interactive, Twitch is not, so there is actually a difference.

For the record, I am not interested in Twitch at all, I'd rather play a game than watch someone playing their game!

 

Twitch is interactive too? Some streamers like to chat with their viewers and even get some of them to play together.

@Wilco- I'd rather "play" games as well. Just seemed kinda hypocritical of the OP to wonder why people like to "watch" people play games in a forum where we're all (the OP included) "talking" about games.....rather than playing them. It's akin to asking
why people "watch" basketball on TV when they could just go outside and "play" it. As gamers, sometimes we like to play. Sometimes we like to watch. And sometimes we like to read about our favorite pastime. It's a hobby that encompasses many different mediums.

 

Well I could pay to subscribe to someones channel just so I can ask one person a question or come here for free and get more than one persons opinion.I thought there would be XBONE streams but none found.Is the streaming function not working or just not
popular.Or perhaps they can only be viewed from the new consoles?

 

I watch games on Twitch if it's a game I don't have and I want to see if it looks good. I've had some pretty funny chats. I just don't know how to stream myself.

 

When im at work and can't play. i watch twitch. and you can actually talk to the player. or the other viewers. and alot of streamers are actually doing it as a full time job.

 

I dont see why people stream games honestly.Some of these idiots probably think that Hollywood might see them and make them movie stars.lol

 

...or perhaps they just like to share what they enjoy doing with the rest of the world.
