    Twitch detects my camera, but doesnt use it


    yesterday I bought a webcam, hoping to add my image to the streaming. The camera is a DW238437 and it works fairly well with the Xbox One and I have used it with the Windows Camera and Skype apps with no problem.

    The Twitch app in Xbox One detects the webcam because since I connected it to the Xbox I have the option to select the camera position. But it is not streaming the camera input.

    I went to Settings\Account\Privacy and safety online\App privacy\Camera (I really dont know how is this path properly translated into english) and I have the camera activated for all Apps in the first column. But in the second column I have to select which
    Apps are allowed to use the camera: Skype, Windows Camera, Microsoft Edge... But Twitch is not there.

    I’ve tried to install and reinstall Twitch, I’ve tried to change the USB port, but the situation is not changing.

    Could you lend me some help?

    Hi there,

    The only streaming services on the Xbox is Mixer and Twitch but the Twitch app is only limited to using the Kinect as a webcam and mic because Twitch hasn't seemed to update the app.

    On Mixer you can connect a webcam through USB and the Camera option will be selectable in the "Broadcast & capture" tab in the menu found under Advanced Settings. As far as the Microphone goes, I think it should work and be detected as you say that it works
    for party chats and most streamers use their headset mic's but give it a try in the advanced settings on Mixer and let us know if it works.

    Hi XBF, so I definitely need a webcam ?. I can't use my my windows surface pro for this right ?. If I can't then I'll buy one with a mic and let the community know if it works. Thanks for your reply 😊✌

    I have the same issue. My camera was working last night on stream through twitch, but today it says “camera not plugged in” I have tried all 3 usb ports on my Xbox one.
