twitch app

Hello can anyone help ? the twitch app on xbox has all of a sudden stopped showing video when watching various streams it will show chat but not video just black screen. i have had no problems up until the last few days. i have been able to watch maybe
one stream randomly but otherwise can't watch anyone i am following.

any help appreciated.

How much upload speed for twitch app?

Problem is fixed.

Had to...

- uninstall the twitch app

- delete safed twitch-data from the console

- reinstall the twitch app

- reset my stream key via the twitch dashboard (website)

- reconnect the twitch app with my twitch account

After that I got my new recommendation for high quality settings.

Hope this helps others, if having the same problem.

Did you check to see if there was an XBL service alert, do a hard reset, or try reinstalling the app?

 

I am having the exact same problem too it started to not work last night. I deleted the app and re-installed and still nothing.

 

been on to support xbox they nothing wrong then suggested factory reset so did that guess what not worked now gotta install all games again great. twitch won't how anyone streaming only chat. this has been working fine for ages for me and now all of sudden
stops working.

i love how they can't help so now can't watch twitch there must be an issue for this ?

 

I couldn't watch my brothers stream lastnight because it was a black screen so I tried watching it on my laptop and had the same problem, streams that aren't been streamed directly from the xbox work fine so its definitely a issue on the xbox streaming side.

 

I'm having exactly the same problem. Been this way for days for me.

 

These streams most likely are not available to watch because of poor settings or incompatible connections and settings the user is streaming on.

If the streams key frame intervals are higher than 2 while the CBR is higher than 2000 the stream will not be available on consoles or mobile devices.

This is not an issue on xbox this is a way to preserve twitchs servers.

This is something that was put in place last year when the video and audio types changed

As for you not being able to view on your PC either tells us that the streamers settings are soo poor twitch down right cuts the stream.

And if you want to fix these types of issues you will need to get an 3rd party broadcasting software... The most popular for free to use is OBS/ open broadcast software. While the most popular paid software is WireCast.

Also I forgot to mention if you want to use a streaming Application you will need an capture card. And it will need to be a high definition card. Best bet HD PVR hauppauge or my personal choice an ElGato Hd Capture Card.
