Discus and support Twitch App in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I planning not to Renew my GOLD membership for personal reasons, I was just wondering if Broadcasting on Twitch requires GOLD or not?... Discussion in 'XBoX Games and Apps' started by JimBox32, May 17, 2016.

    I planning not to Renew my GOLD membership for personal reasons, I was just wondering if Broadcasting on Twitch requires GOLD or not?

    How much upload speed for twitch app?

    Problem is fixed.

    Had to...

    - uninstall the twitch app

    - delete safed twitch-data from the console

    - reinstall the twitch app

    - reset my stream key via the twitch dashboard (website)

    - reconnect the twitch app with my twitch account

    After that I got my new recommendation for high quality settings.

    Hope this helps others, if having the same problem.

    I don't believe it requires Xbox Live Gold since Microsoft lifted the Gold Subscription for Most if not all Apps that are third-party.

    No i was able to livestream even when my Gold Subscription was over Twitch App ;)

    The unethical nature of 60fps functionality on the Xbox Twitch application.

    that maybe the issue on console but i use twitch via pc and there are no such paywalls for 60fps streaming, either using obs or twitch's very own studio software which is absolutely free.

    twitch did not bother updating the app too much on the Xbox due to the way Microsoft shoe horned in their own streaming service.

    twitch was the original app on Xbox one for streaming then Microsoft changed the OS and banged in there useless platform for streaming (which shut down not long ago) and side-lined the twitch app, what incentive did twitch have to update the console app. none.
