    Twitch app not displaying video in channels...


    I can see preview streams on the marketplace for the most part. I can see preview streams of channels I have subscribed to in the apps actual hub. When I actually go into a channel though, I cannot see any video streaming. I can see the chatlog rolling (sometimes)
    but I cannot see any video as the video pane is blank, the color of the background. no sound can be heard or anything. I have reset my system. I have hard reset my system. I have uninstalled the app. I have reinstalled the app from a reboot. I have cleared
    persistent data under Bluray. I have tried everything I can think of and I can not get streaming video to play in the app. I have made a post on Gamefaqs about the issue and have had several users there. Hime in and report that they are having the same problem.
    A fix or some help would be welcome on this situations!

  5. I believe I noticed a quick update that Twitch did when I used this app late last night. Then this morning I have had the same problems TC mentioned.

    I too, have done all trouble shooting TC did, but also disconnected device (xbox one) from my Twitch account, then reconnected it with that activation code you are instructed to do from a mobile or computer. Still no stream video.

    So... somethings up. I have searched all over for some type of forum or message board that twitch would post or leave notice of this. That they are aware of problem or something, but I can't find anything.

    If anyone is aware of some way to see or communicate this update bug with Twitch, please let us know.

    Well I figured out a workaround for this issue. Once in the channel you want to view, just snap the Twitch app and the video will stream fine, then switch to full screen and the video will be okay. Unfortunately you have to do this for every channel that
    you want to watch. Yesterday for me the app just randomly started to work again and allow me to watch streams (albeit with constant buffering on my 75/75MB U/D connections its open NAT), but when I turned the system in this morning it was acting the same way
    again.

    Sorry to hear about the issue with viewing videos while using the Twitch app. If you haven't already, I recommend trying the following steps to see if we can get this issue sorted:

    • First, start by uninstalling and reinstalling the Twitch app.
    • Once you have reinstalled the Twitch app, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
    • Unplug the power cord to your router, modem or gateway.
    • Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console, router, modem or gateway.
    • Power on your console and load the Twitch app and check to see if the issue is continuing to occur.
    Give the suggested steps a try and be sure to let us know the results!

    Suggested tip did not help per usual( sorry, not trying to come off as snide) as the issue is not tied to a caching it oersistant data issue. The issue seems to be a video codec handshake issue that is just not occurring when it needs to. The issue has been
    disappeared with the recent preview dashboard update, although now a slew of other issues have arisen with the preview dashboard update that has caused me to just factory reset my machine at this point to get it to work properly.
