Twitch app crashes when loading channel

is it me or is the Twitch app taking way too long loading channels im at 5 min now and not a channel on screen and thats any of the games

 

Twitch keep crashing.

Twitch works on my 360 and PC.

I've also found 3 channels that don't crash on the xbox one

All of these channels are ad free when watching from the PC.

When other channels crash on the xbox one, the timing of the crash seems to be about the same as timing that the ad would kick in on the PC. I suspect the crashes are related to the ads coming from Twitch's Canadian servers.

 

Same problem here. This has been going on for week. Last update about this was that the problem was related an ISP in Canada. Any more news? Is this going to be fixed? Please at least acknowledge this is being worked on.

 

I can watch any stream from pc players but cant see xb1 streams and cant stream myself. When I can it wont load the chat. If my buddy streams it says hes broadcasting but if I try to view says broadcast ended. This started in last 3 days for me. I see some
ppl have it much worse though so get to it Microsoft. We pay for your services we deserve some info at the very least.

 

This issue is actively being investigated by both MS and Twitch. Because it appears to be an ISP issue it's taking time to identify them, get in contact, get network traces, etc. I know how frustrating things like this are but we're doing everything we can
to get it fixed. Thanks again for your patience, I'll bump the thread if I get any new information.

Twitch is trying to narrow things down so they can get a fix out. If you have other devices on the same network (PC, 360, mobile, etc.) that can stream Twitch please respond. Thanks again for your patience; they're moving as fast as they can.

 

LoneGnome, I am having no issues whatsoever streaming Twitch from any other device in my household (Mobile, and pc).. only on the Xbox One.

Twitch works perfectly for me on other devices in the same network: MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad.

It doesn't work on the Xbox One. The broadcast previews work on the store, but if I click on them to launch the Twitch app, it just shows the chat and eventually crashes. Same if I try to watch any stream using the app.

Definitely not an ISP issue since all other devices that work are in the same network. There's something going on with the app. In any case, I'm in BC and my ISP is Shaw.

Twitch works on every other device I have regardless of what network it is on...PS4, iPhone5s, IPad Air, Xbox 360, and PC all work fine.

The Xbox One app is the only thing that is having issues. Some games in the Xbox One store have a broadcast preview window and it even plays properly in there until you click on it and it opens the twitch app.

 

Update:

Twitch just got back to us and we think it should be fixed. There a few users in the other threads that are reporting that it's now working. If anyone still isn't working please let me know. Thanks again for your patience and help getting this resolved.

But it didn't just start working right away. I tried it when I saw your update, but it said it could not connect. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the app and ended-up with the same "black window" problem. Finally, I changed the region to US, reset, confirmed
it was working for US, changed it back to Canada, reset and it then started working. I don't know if changing the region to US and back did the trick or just the reset you need to do when changing the region. But it's now all good with the region set to Canada.
Something for others to try if they are still having problems.
