Twitch and Online Status

Discus and support Twitch and Online Status in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I know you need to adjust all your privacy settings to display you as online in order to be able to broadcast to Twitch,but my question is why?     Twitch and Online Status


    I know you need to adjust all your privacy settings to display you as online in order to be able to broadcast to Twitch,but my question is why?

    Is there some sort of technical limitation that prevents you from streaming while appearing offline or was it a design choice?Is there any chance of that restriction being lifted in the future?

    The main Xbox Status page for One and 360 is at
    support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status

    They don't give any granular detail unfortunately but that's where you can check if there's a problem. However Twitch shows as running, maybe the Twitch part of the server is but broadcasting isn't, so it should really show as being down. I'm pretty sure
    these statuses don't get updated automatically and like most outages require a human to update the status.

    Twitch - your access has been revoked due to past bad behavior

    Don't worry guys, you've done nothing wrong. This issue is known by both Twitch and Microsoft and they are working on a fix.

    Check to make sure your status is not set to Appearing Offline. This prevents Twitch broadcasting and may affect recording of clips as well.
