Twisted database - two Gamertags assigned to one account?

Ahoy,

I got a silly "little" problem.

When I registered for Sea of Thieves, I created an Xbox Account and received a gamertag. On a later date I had to merge my Xbox and my old Skype account, because they both used the same eMail address.

My Sea of Thieves Account got verified as insider and assigned to join the Alphas - though I was never abled to play.

Here's the thing:

When I created my Xbox Account, I chose the Gamertag RealPazuzu. This Gamertag has been verified a year ago and is set as a Sea of Thieves "Founder".

When I had to merge my Accounts, I was assigned a new Gamertag and set it to , because the Gamertag RealPazuzu was already in use (by the same account with the same eMail address, d'uh).

I receive eMails for both Gamertags to the same eMail address. So I recently received a verification that my Gamertag RealPazuzu is welcome to join the Closed Beta. And another eMail that asks me to preorder the game if I want to join the Closed Beta with
my Gamertag .

If I log into Xbox, Microsoft Store or Xbox Insider-Hub with the associated eMail address, I can only access the Gamertag "". That means I got no chance to login with the other Gamertag, because it uses the same eMail address (nor I could change
my Gamertag to RealPazuzu, because it is already taken by the very same account).

This is very frustrating, because I'm very much looking forward to the game and would have loved to give it a shot.

Is there any chance to fix this. Or find a work-around, please? (Like removing Founder status from my Gamertag RealPazuzu and assigning it to my Gamertag ?)

Hi,

In many cases this happens when the email address is spelt incorrectly. Try and log into the other Gamertag and double check the spelling for each letter so that you are sure that it is not misspelt the Email address.

If it is a case where you have misspelt it, type in the misspelt email and use the same password you would of used with the original email. Try on Xbox.com first to see if it is the same Gamertag, if so do a recovery but clear the system cache first.

When I log in to xbox live, it prompted me for my user id/password. I had to reset my password since I have always normally automatically logged in to xbox live. When i reset my password and logged in, a different gamertag shows up. I was on support with
someone yesterday but got cutoff. They did say I have two gamertags assigned to my account. Had me clear my cache. Then tried setting up a new email in order to switch the one gamertag out and get mine back. This did not work, we got an error message indicating
this could not be done right now. Any ideas?

I'm sorry for what happened to you. Try to contact the support directly through the appropriate
forum, speaking the problem. Surely they will solve it.
