TV will not turn on or off with xbox

I did a factory reset to get my Kinect working and during the setup it automatically picked the remote code for the TV. I know last time I set it up I had to go back in and change the code, but now in the Devise and power option settings it won't let me
click on the TV setting. is there some other way to do it?

Xbox one console not controlling TV since receiving it back from service.

I have the same problem with the same TV. It will not control TV power either off or on. I also can't get my Xbox to turn on by saying Xbox On, either. But Xbox off works, just won't turn TV off.

 

TV Turns off when turning xbox on

Guess you have set up the xbox to turn on the tv and receiver. So it tries to do that when it is turned on (Xbox cannot sense that it is already on).

Your tv model responds to turn on/off with the same infrared signal. So when it is on, it will turn off and vice versa with the same command. That's not a fault/problem from the xbox but from the tv manufacturer.

So two options:

- always turn on the tv by turning on the xbox and turn the tv off by turning the xbox off

- or do not let the xbox turn on your tv and do that manually

As you mentioned the Kinect is the device that will handle the remote controlling of your TV. This is all handled via IR blasting, so it could be a signal issue. I would first suggest making sure the Kinect is wiped down and cleaned of any possible smudges
or anything else. If you've done that, then I would suggest trying to re-positioning your Kinect to see if that helps with the remote commands. If you've done both of those you may want to try to do a hard reset. To do that with the Xbox on hold the power
button down for about 8 seconds until it just shuts off. AFter it's off, turn the power back on and test to see if it works.
